Most Popular Udon Noodles Topped with Prawn and Rice Cake -Menya Okhotsk in Yubetsu-

Menya Okhotsk (麺屋おほーつく) is a popular Udon restaurant in Yubetsu town between Monbetsu and Abashiri and was founded in 2009. It is famous for printing in MICHELIN GUIDE Hokkaido 2012 Special Edition. A building has an atmosphere such as the lodges with warmth of a tree. The restaurant is not so large, but counter seats and tables are provided, so family customers seem to enjoy. Business hours are only lunch time and it often has visitors lined up.
I visited here around 11:00 on weekdays. A customer is only me for a winter. The counter seats were decked with flowers, and it seemed to make the female customers happy. I sat the counter seat and read a menu. "Ebi-mochi-bukkake Udon (えびもちぶっかけ)" (Udon noodles topped with prawn and rice cake) was the most popular food, and a large mixed vegetable, and seafood tempura "Bikkuri-Kakiage (びっくりかき揚げ)" looked tasty, but I decided to eat an ever-popular menu the first time, so I ordered the Ebi-mochi-bukkake Udon. The price was JPY 980.
About 10 minutes later, the Ebi-mochi-bukkake Udon were served. As for Bukkake Udon, Udon sauce is separated from Udon. The customers pour the Udon sauce into the Udon on a dish. The udon was topped with prawn tempra and fried rice cakes and green radish sprouts accentuated beautiful look.
An owner trained Udon cooking at the heartland of udon, Kagawa Prefecture, and the Udon was used wheat produced in Hokkaido and thick chewy Udon was very tasty. In addition, fresh prawn tempra was good texture, and fried rice cakes were not too deep fried and were chewy texture. It was Tasty!
