[Kabato Seimenjo in Tobetsu] Tasty Udon Noodles Can Be Savored, But Line Must Be Formed

Kabato Seimenjo (かばと製麺所) is a self-service udon noodle restraunt along National Route 275 in Tobetsu located in the northeastern part of Sapporo city, and has opened a business since 2011, and is famous for always forming a line. In a winter, it closes a business, and opens udon noodle restraunt "Mandegan Gaiden (まんでがん外伝)" in the Sapporo. In a summer, they open a business in the Tobetsu, and open a business in the Sapporo in the winter. Mr. Kenichi Hashimoto (橋本憲一), a restraunt owner, trained his cooking skills at famous udon restraunt "Ikegami Seimenjo (池上製麺所)" in Kagawa Prefecture, so visitors can enjoy the genuine taste of Kagawa Udon in Hokkaido. He takes his ingredients produced in the Tobetsu seriously, and they use wheat flours "Kitahonami (きたほなみ)" produced in the Tobetsu, and a lot of vegetables produced in the Tobetsu are used for Tempura.
The restraunt is 1-story building, and the warmth of the wood is felt. Counter seats are at the building, and table seats are at out of the building. A lot of table seats are provided, so a lot of family customers enjoy meals. But table seats on the outside are not used if it rains.
Speaking of the Tobetsu, the Tobetsu has 8 golf cources for some reason. If you look at a google map, you can see the Tobetsu is crowded with the golf cources. As for tourist attractions in the Tobetsu, Forest of Hokkaido People, Tobetsu Dam, Sweeden Hills, Flax Flowers, Date Memorial Museum, ROYCE' Futomi Factory, Roadside Station Tobetsu are famous. As for onsen, Nakagoya Onsen (中小屋温泉), Kananosawa Natural Onsen (金の沢天然温泉) and Futomimeisen Manyo-no-Yu (ふとみ銘泉 万葉の湯) are famous.
Flax Flowers (亜麻の花) bloom in late June in Tobetsu located in the northeast part of Sapporo. Tobetsu is a main producing district of the Flax, and tourists can see the Flax Flowers from the outside of the Flax Fields at the best time to see that is from late June to mid July. The Flax Flowers bloom only in the forenoon, and the bloomed Flax Flowers are scattered in a day. Small light blue lovely flowers make me even feel melancholy, too. Nakagoya Onsen (中小屋温泉) is a hot spring place in Tobetsu town located in the northeastern part of Sapporo city. The hot spring was discovered in 1894. Only Nakagoya Onsen Kiku-no-En (中小屋温泉 きくの園) surrounded by trees is built near Honnakahoya Station (本中小屋駅). The distance is around 12 km away from the center of the Tobetsu, and restraunts, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built. Kabato Seimenjo (かばと製麺所), a famous Udon noodle shop, and Kimikage (きみかげ), a famous bakery, are a little away from here. Kananosawa Natural Onsen
Kananosawa Natural Onsen (金の沢天然温泉) is a hot spring place in Tobetsu town located in the northeast part of Sapporo city. Only Kaitaku Fukuro-no-Yu (開拓 ふくろふ乃湯) adjacent to Kanazawa Shrine (金沢神社) is built at the end of a road with about 200 m in length in front of Ishikari Kanazawa Station (石狩金沢駅), and is relatively near the Sapporo, but it has an atomosphere like secret onsen, so a lot of onsen lovers come. Restraunts, cafes, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built around the building. But there is Bakery Nordessen near here. In addition, Kabato Seimenjo, a famous Udon noodle shop, is a little away from here. Cold Udon Served with Concentrated Broth and Tempura
I visited here around 13:30 on a weekday. A lot of cars parked on a parking lot. I expected a long line in front of the building, but customers did not form a line. How to order is as follows. 1. Customers order udon noodles at a cash desk. 2. A waitress serves their numbers after the payment. 3. The customers get the udon noodles after their numbers are announced. 4. The customers get tempura after spice the udon noodle if the cutomers order the tempura. 5. Tables and counters are provided at inside and outside of the building, so the customers sit down to vacant seats, and water is helped themselves. It is different order with restaurant chains because they want the customers to eat fresh udon noodles.
I asked the waitress restraunt's recommendation, and she told me that Cold Udon Served with Concentrated Broth (冷ぶっかけうどん) was most popular. Customers can choose among 1-3 serving of udon noodles. I ordered the Cold Udon Served with Concentrated Broth with a serving of the udon noodles. In addition, tempura was popular, too, and I was going to order the vegetable tempura produced in the Tobetsu, but except Asparagus Tempura (アスパラ天ぷら), the vegetable tempura were out of stock. The tempura were popular, after all. Therefore, I ordered a Prawn Tempura (エビ天ぷら) and a Chicken Tempura (カシワ天ぷら) as well as the Asparagus Tempura. The prices were JPY 830 in total. After ordering, I waited for about 20 minutes, and my number was announced. By the way, about 10 customers except me waited for announcing their numbers.
Since the weather was very nice, I ate the udon noodles on an outside table. A field came into sight, and it had a good atomosphere of typical Hokkaido. First of all, the Asparagus Tempura caught my eyes. It was very long, and had about 20 cm in length. In addition, the Chicken Tempura was large, too, and was like a fried chicken. I put the temupra on the cold udon served with concentrated broth, and ate it. The udon noodles were thick and chewy. Those were really filling, and were tasty! Tempura were fresh out of the kitchen, so the texture was crispy. Those were tasty, too.
