Udon with Deep Fried Chikuwa and Soft Boiled Egg Suprised Me in Niseko -Nonosan in Kyogoku-

Meisui Udon Nonosan (名水うどん野々傘) is an Udon restaurant in Kyogoku town, Niseko. The restaurant's name is associated with the onwer's name, Nonoda. He quitted a company and trained cooking at several Udon restaurants, and he opened the Udon restaurant here in 2006.

I visited here around 17:30 on Friday. It opens only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the evening. I entered the restaurant with other couple when it opened. A building is an old Japanese-style house, and the warmth of the tree can be felt because many woods are used. A good old atmosphere is the theme of this restaurant. Interior decoration is unified in old style, and a Japanese traditional folk song plays.

This restraunt has tables and a raised seating place, so family customers seem to enjoy. I sat at the table and read a menu and ordered Udon noodles with the deep fried chikuwa and soft boiled egg (ちく玉天うどん) that the owner trained the cooking at Kamatake (釜たけ), famous Udon restraunt in Osaka. The price is JPY 850.

While drinking a cup of healthy tea (健康茶), I waited for 15 minutes and the Udon noodles with the deep fried chikuwa and soft boiled egg was served. An Udon noodles bowl with the deep fried chikuwa sticking out of it caught my eyes and looked tasty! I ate it at once, a texture was crispy. Half the yolk gelled when I breaked the deep fried soft boiled egg.

The soup was light brown and tasted dried bonito and kombu. The soup can be tasted soup stock with salt of Naruto without being too salty. Those Udon noodles were handmade using 100 % wheat flour produced in Hokkaido and Kyogoku superb water and were very chewy. I enjoyed it.
