[Tsurunoyu Onsen in Abira] Day Trip Bath and Lotus Flower Can Be Enjoyed near New Chitose Airport
Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen (鶴の湯温泉) is a hot-spring place in Abira town located in the the southeastern direction of of Chitose city, and is famous for beautiful lotus flowers. They have a Japanese garden. There are 2 large marshes named "Hasu-numa (ハス沼)", and figures of crane are installed here and there. The Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen is very close to New Chitose Airport, and it is easy access from Sapporo or Tomakomai to here. Except Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen, Unfortunately, restraunts, cafes, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built.
Letters of "Tsuru (鶴)" means a crane in Japanese language. A herdsmen saw the crane that healed his wound at a swamp early in the Meiji period. When Mr. Risaburo Inoue (井上利三郎) heard the talking, he tried that thing with injured domestic animals, too, and those recovered likewise. Because hot springs (Yu in japanese language) were taught by the crane (Tsuru), it was named Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen.
As for the Hasu-numa Marsh, Yezo Mountain Cherry can be enjoyed in a spring, Lotus flowers and Iris flowers can be enjoyed in a summer, and fall foliage can be enjoyed in an autumn. The lotus flowers are famous in particular, and In August, lotus flowers blossom at their peak. Admission fee is JPY 500 only during lotus flowers blossom. Ducks are bred around the marsh, and visitors can feed carp in the marsh. In addition, nature animals or birds such as deers and kingfishers seem to appear. Unfortunately, the crane does not come to fly.

The visitors can take a day trip bath only at Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen (鶴の湯温泉). You can get information regarding online reviews and photos.
Tsuru-no-Yu Onsen is a long-established onsen inn founded in 1902 at the marshside. An owner chnaged in 2010, and a building was renewed at that time. A restraunt named "Kikuchi Shokudo (きくち食堂)" is at the building, too, and a staying is possible, too. An entrance fee to a bath facility is JPY 530.
A large public bathhouse on the 1st floor has large glass windows, and the sunny bathhouse is feeling good. There is 1 indoor bath at the bathhouse. It is the size that about 20 people take a bath. 2 figures of the crane made by bronze are installed at the side of the bath. Interestingly enough, the hot spring ingredients precipitated on the surface of those, and whitened. Those came like genuine cranes. The bath uses heated cold springs.
The hot springs are sulfur and sodium chloride carbonated spring, and are clear and light brown and have a little salty and sulfur smell. It has a smooth and slippery touch. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 2.573 g/kg. Because shampoos and body soaps are not provided at the bathhouse, bathers must bring those. A restroom and free hair dryers are installed at a dressing room.
