In addition, there are restaurants, cafes, bars with a surcharge, convenience stores, Tateura Sea-bathing Beach (館浦海水浴場) and Monument for Government Army Landing Point in Hakodate War (箱館戦争官軍上陸の地碑) in the center of the Otobe, so sea-bathing can be enjoyed in a summer. Takise Coast (滝瀬海岸) is also near here.

Takise Coast
Takise Coast (滝瀬海岸) is a coast in Otobe town located in the northwestern direction of Hakodate city, and a sandy beach spreads over for about 6 km length. The coast is known for Shirafura (シラフラ) and Kuguri-iwa Rock (くぐり岩). The Kuguri-iwa Rock is a rock with a hole to pass through the rock. * The Kuguri means "Passing through" in English. The Shirafura means "White sloping land" in Ainu language. As its name suggests, white stratums stretch for about 4 km. Especially, a part of the white stratums has about 500 m length and about 30 m height, and is a very good precipitous cliff. The view reminds visitors of famous white precipitous cliffs in Europe, and the not typical scenery in Japan becomes popular. But a sightseeing facility is not built, and only parking lot is provided near the Kuguri-iwa Rock. Admission free. The parking lot is fre of charge. Read More

The outdoor bath is the size that about 4 people can take a bath, and there is a garden before bather's eyes, so the bathers can enjoy taking a bath while forest bathing. The hot springs are more cold than the hot springs of the indoor bath, and it is suitable for taking a long bath. Foot massage stones are set on the ground, too.
