[Takinoyu Onsen in Kitami] Day Trip Onsen and High Quality Hot Spring with Smooth and Slipery Touch Touch Can Be Enjoyed

Taki-no-Yu Onsen

Taki-no-Yu Onsen (滝の湯温泉) is a hot spring place in Rubeshibe-cho located in the western part of Kitami city, and is adjacent to North Daisetsu Area, Daisetuzan National Park. Toji Onsen Kotobukien (湯治温泉寿苑) and Takinoyu Center Yumefusen (滝の湯センター夢風泉) are built beside Shiobetsu Tsurutsuru Onsen (塩別つるつる温泉). The area around here is developed as Takinoyu Fureai-no-Sato (滝の湯ふれあいの里), so there are a footbath, a park golf course and ponds that firefly can be seen. Unfortunately, restraunts, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built. It takes about 30 minutes from the center of Rubeshibe (留辺蘂) to here by car. The Taki-no-Yu Onsen surrounded by trees and fields is not in a mountain, and is near a park golf course, Kitami Fuji Cart Circuit (北見富士カートサーキット) and Rubeshibe Development Hall (留辺蘂町開拓資料館).

The hot springs are simple sulfur spring, and ph is around 9.5, so those have smooth and slippery touch. Soft springs with abundant nature’s beauty mineral like sulfur have a good reputation. There are Onneyu Onsen (おんねゆ温泉), Road Station "Onneyu Onsen" (道の駅おんねゆ温泉), Yamano Aquarium (山の水族館), Norh Fox Ranch (北きつね牧場), Onneyu Kokusai Country Club (温根湯国際カントリークラブ), Tsutsuji Park (つつじ公園) and Tsutsuji Park Campsite (つつじ公園キャンプ場) around here. In addition, this district is an white runner bean‐producing center, and White Runner Bean Mousse (白花豆ムース) is famous, too. By the way, nonstop buses do not run from Sapporo or New Chitose Airport.

Yamano Aquarium

Yamano Aquarium (山の水族館) is a small aquarium built at roadside station "Onneyu Onsen (おんねゆ温泉)" near Onneyu Onsen (温根湯温泉) in Rubeshibe, Kitami city and was renewed in 2012 and became a popular aquarium, and 300,000 tourists come. Mr. Hajime Nakamura (中村元), only aquarium producers in Japan, designed it. There are 9 exhibit spaces in total, and the world's first freezing glass tank and a glass tank that the Japan's first basin of a waterfall is looked up are especially famous. Tourists can observe more than 50 kinds of fishes, and a large glass tank that 40 Itou fishes with more than 1 m in length swim is extremely powerful. Admission is charged. Daisetsuzan National Park

Daisetsuzan National Park (大雪山国立公園) is the largest national park of 226,763.56 ha in Japan. A mountain named Daisetsuzan does not exist, and the whole area including the mountains with over 2,000 m above sea level such as Mt. Asahidake (旭岳), the highest mountain in Hokkaido, Mt. Kurodake (黒岳), Mt. Aibestudake (愛別岳), Mt. Tomuraushi (トムラウシ山) is collectively called "Daisetsuzan". A right notation is "Daisetsuzan", but local people often call "Taisetsuzan". For a vast area, Daisetsuzan National Park roughly divide into 4 areas, Omote Daisetu Area (表大雪エリア * Front Daisetsu Area), North Daisetsu Area (北大雪エリア), East Daisetsu Area (東大雪エリア * Back Daisestu Area), Tokachirenpo Area (十勝連峰エリア). Daisetsuzan is called Kamuimintara in Ainu language and means "The garden that gods have a good time (神々の遊ぶ庭)". Tourists can enjoy a just magnificent scene. Article is here

White Runner Bean Mousse

Fujiya Confectionery (ふじや菓子舗) is a long-established confectionary in Onneyu Onsen (温根湯温泉), Rubeshibe-cho located in the western part of Kitami city and was founded in 1932. As for white runner bean, Rubeshibe-cho has been the top produce in Japan. Therefore they has been producing cakes using the white runner bean since the old days. Because I heard that one of the cakes, white runner bean mousse (白花豆ムース) were famous, I visited here to purchase it. The price was JPY 290. Article is here

Day Trip Onsen

Visitors can take a day trip bath at the Toji Onsen Kotobukien and the Takinoyu Center Yumefusen.

Toji Onsen Kotobukien

Toji Onsen Kotobukien is a small-sized onsen inn for hot-spring cure, and has opened a business since 1976, and is well-known for high quality hot springs. Because it is the hot spring facility for hot‐spring cure, a staying without meals is possible. In addition, a staying is possible, too. Visitors can take a day trip onsen, and an entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 250. If an owner does not appear at an entrance, the visitors put money at a plastic box.

I visited here around 15:00 on Sunday. An building has an atomosphere such as Showa period, and looks Shibui. Fortunately, there was no visitors. I paid the owner the entrance fee, and he showd me to a public bathroom.

There is 1 indoor bath at the bathroom. The tiled bathroom is small, but mosaic glass looks good. By the way, the bath floor is slippery, so watch your steps. The indoor bath is the size that 2 people can take a bath, and uses 100% natural free flowing hot springs, and the hot springs overflow from the bath. A shower is not provided, so bathers must pour hot springs on theirselves with a wash basin. the hot springs are used as hot water from a faucet, too.

The hot springs are simple sulfur spring, and are clear and colorless and have a little bittersweet taste and no smell, and have smooth and slippery touch. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 0.3568 g/kg. A plastic cup is on a cock, and the hot springs are drinkable. It seems to be effective for Diabetes, Gout and Constipation. Shampoos and bodysoaps are not provided at the bathhouses, so the bathers should bring those. A restroom and a hair dryer are not installed at a dressing room, so you should get a wash beforehand at the restroom along the corridor.

Taki-no-Yu Center Yumefusen

Taki-no-Yu Center Yumefusen is a small-sized onsen inn run by Emulink holdings inc, and has opened a business since 2008. A restraunt is at the building, too, and visitors for day trip bath can use the restraunt. An entrance fee to a bath facility is JPY 400.

There are 2 indoor baths at a public bathhouse. The block tiled bathroom is small but cozy. The semi-round indoor bath and the quarter-round indoor bath use 100% natural free flowing hot springs. Smooth and slippery touch is popular.
