[Tamasaburo in Nayoro] Rare Cheese Cake Combined Japanese Sweet with Western Confectionery
Tamasaburo (たまさぶろう) is a restaurant surrounded by fields in Nayoro city located between Asahikawa city and Wakkanai city, and is near Nayoro North Interchange (名寄北インターチェンジ). Mr. Atsushi Shishimi (志々見 敦), a restaurant owner, has established the restaurant since 2007. I heard from Ms. Gishi that his dishes were tasty, so I wanted to visit here. The building that was renovated a solitary ordinary house had an atmosphere such as a building of Okushiba Shoten (奥芝商店), a famous soup curry restraunt. By the way, its name of the restaurant was named after the name of a budgerigar bred by him. Therefore an illustration of the budgerigar was drawn on a wall of the building. I made sense.
The restaurant looks like a private house of Showa periodo in Hokkaido, and all seats are table seats. Various railroad goods are displayed here and there. The restaurant is not so large, but I guess that even family customers enjoy meals. The owner is a railroad fan, and also has an exhibition room with railroad models, and a visit is possible outside business hours.
Nayoro (名寄) that about 30,000 people live is the 24th largest commercial city in Hokkaido, and is located between Wakkanai city and Asahikawa city, and is one of regional hub cities of the North Hokkaido area. The Nayoro means "A country near rivers" in Ainu language, and the downtown is between Nayoro River (名寄川) and Teshio River (天塩川). Furen that became incorporated with the Nayoro in 2006 is well-known for glutinous rice, and the planted area is the largest in Japan. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 30 degrees in a summer, and it is cold that temperature falls to nearly -30 degrees in a winter because Nayoro is located in a basin. Since the restaurant served sweets as well as a meal, I ordered it. It was Yuki-to-Machiawase (雪とまちあわせ) on sale. The price was JPY 350. Except this restraunt, it was sold at Roadside Station "Mochigome-no-Sato Nayoro (もちごめの里なよろ)".
The Yuki-to-Machiawase was a rare cheese cake. Rice flour produced in Nayoro was used in the rare cheese, and cream cheese produced in Shimokawa was put on a tart cookie. In addition, raspberry sauce was poured in the top of the rare cheese, and the sweets was wrapped in turkish delight. It was combined sweets with Japanese sweet and confectionery. Its texture looked like Yukimi Daifuku (ice cream wrapped in mochi). The appearance was also beautiful, and it was tasty for not too sweet and light taste. Thanks for the tasty sweets!
