Takahashi Manjuya (高橋まんじゅう屋) is a long-established a long established imagawa-yaki cake shop facing Denshin-dori Street in Obihiro city, and has been established since 1954, and is a little far away from Obihiro Station. Their popular name is Taka-Man (たかまん), and they are loved by local people. Mr. Michiaki Takahashi (高橋 道明) is a shop owner at present. The shop on the 1st floor of a 2 story house is not large, and the appearance of the building has Japanese style decoration. A place for custmers to enjoy foods and drinks is provided at the shop, and I guess that even family customers enjoy sweets. Water and Japanese tea are available at a self-service counter.

Imagawa-yaki Japanese Muffin
I heard that the Imagawa-yaki Japanese Muffin was tasty, so I visited here around 14:00. They served 2 types of flavor, Sweet Bean Jam Flavor and Cheese Flavor. The price was JPY 100 per one. Since I was there, I bought both types of the Imagawa-yaki Japanese Muffin. The price was JPY 200 in total. They served those on a dish, so I decided to eat at the shop.

First I ate the Sweet Bean Jam Flavor called a standard Imagawa-yaki Japanese Muffin. Its diameter was around 5 cm, and its thickness was about 3 cm. Outside was hard and inside was moisty. Chewy crust had nice texture. The sweet bean jam made from adzuki beans produced in Tokachi was not too sweet. It was tasty!

My surprise was the Cheese Flavor. I was also surprised at "チーズ (Cheese)" written on the surface of the crust, but It was not only that. In most other cases, sweet cheese was used in the Imagawa-yaki Japanese Muffin because the sweetness of the crust was suit for the sweet cheese, so I misunderstood and thought that the cheese was sweet. But the cheese was salty taste when I ate it. It went well with the sweetness of the crust. It was also tasty! I knew that a popular reason of the Takahashi Manjuya. Thanks for the tasty Imagawa-yaki Japanese Muffin!

In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
