Sato Cake Shop
Sato Cake Shop (佐藤洋菓子店) is a popular confectionery shop founded in 2008 at a residential area in Sumikawa, Minami ward, Sapporo city, and a pink wooden wall is a mark. Mr. Tomoki Sato (佐藤 智樹) is an owner patissier. They serve baked confectioneries, cakes, cookies, tarts, puddings and so on.
The shop is not so large, and a tea room with an atmosphere such as a natural general shop is beside the shop. Counter seats and table seats are provided at the tea room, so I guess that even family customers enjoy sweets and drinks. Works of craftsmans are displayed, and here is used as an exhibition room, too.
Sapporo (札幌) that about 1,960,000 people live is the largest city in Hokkaido. Although there are various theories, its origin of the name is "Dry Big River (乾いた大きな川)" in Ainu language. A population of the Sapporo is the 4th largest city after Yokohama, Osaka and Nagoya in japan, and the population accounts for 36 % of Hokkaido's population! So the Sapporo has been flourished as the center of the Hokkaido. The area of the Sapporo is 1,121.26 km2, and is about as big as Hong Kong, and is the 7th largest city in the Hokkaido. The Sapporo is also famous as a tourist city, and about 15 million people come. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 25 degrees in a summer, but it is easy to live without moisture. I always feel a little cool. It is cold that temperature falls to nearly -10 degrees in a winter, and amount of snowfall sometimes has more than 1 m. Read More
Macchan and Pudding
I visited here around 14:00 on a weekday. I asked a shop clerk about shop's recommendation, and she replied me "Because it is an autumn now, so I recommend Mont Blanc Cake (モンブラン) and Pumpkin Pudding (かぼちゃプリン)". Those looked tasty, but I was interested in Green Tea Cake "Macchan" (まっちゃん) and Pudding (プリン) according to those appearances. I trusted my intuition, and ordered those and a cup of coffee. The price of the Macchan was JPY 300, and the price of the Pudding was JPY 320, and the price of the coffee was JPY 350. * The coffee was the price of a cake set.
I sat a table seat, and waited for about 5 minutes, and the cake, the pudding and coffee were served. The cake and the pudding were dished up on a dish. Such a consideration was nice, too. First I ate the Green Tea Cake "Macchan" topped with a lovely face. Soft sponge cake was easily cut with a fork. The sweetness of the cake was not too much, and the bitterness of green tea cream was good. It was tasty!
Then I ate the Pudding. It contained a lovely container such as a measuring cup, and had a rich egg taste, and it was not too sweet. Caramel sauce was on the bottom, too. The pudding was too tasty! This container was used as a potted plant by drilling a hole at the bottom. It was interesting!
An idea to please a child was adopted abundantly in their cakes. I supposed that their affection of parents for their children was deep. By the way, their daughter drew a logo mark of their shop. I could imagine a heartwarming family. Thanks for the tasty cake and pudding!

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
