Patisserie Yoshi (パティスリー YOSHI) is a popular French confectionery shop founded in 2006 in a residential area, Nishino, Nishi ward, Sapporo city, and is very far away from Sapporo Station to here. Mr. Yoshitaka Komatsu (小松良考), a chef patissier, trained his cooking skill in Japan and France. Cakes, baked confectioneries, breads and chocolate as well as genuine French confectioneries are sold. A gelato shop Yoshi Yoshi is at the building, too. Besides, Creperie YOSHI opens a business on Tuesday that is a regular closing day of the Patisserie Yoshi. * The Yoshi Yoshi closes a business in a winter season.
The shop at the earth color building is not so large, and a cake sales area and a gelato sales area are also built at the shop, and places for custmers to enjoy foods and drinks are provided inside and outside. Water is available at self-service counter.
Sapporo (札幌) that about 1,960,000 people live is the largest city in Hokkaido. Although there are various theories, its origin of the name is "Dry Big River (乾いた大きな川)" in Ainu language. A population of the Sapporo is the 4th largest city after Yokohama, Osaka and Nagoya in japan, and the population accounts for 36 % of Hokkaido's population! So the Sapporo has been flourished as the center of the Hokkaido. The area of the Sapporo is 1,121.26 km2, and is about as big as Hong Kong, and is the 7th largest city in the Hokkaido. The Sapporo is also famous as a tourist city, and about 15 million people come. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 25 degrees in a summer, but it is easy to live without moisture. I always feel a little cool. It is cold that temperature falls to nearly -10 degrees in a winter, and amount of snowfall sometimes has more than 1 m. Read More
Mont Blanc Cake Teineyama and Gelatos with Fresh Milk Flavor and Nishino Swiss Roll Flavor
I visited here around 13:30 on a weekday, but there were already about 20 customers! The shop was not so large, I felt that the shop was considerably crowded. First I purchased Mont Blanc Cake Teineyama (ていね山), a shop's recommendation, at a cash register. The price was JPY 420. Then I decided to buy a gelato at the Yoshi Yoshi. I purchased a double scoop gelato with a paper cup to eat Fresh Milk (フレッシュミルク) Flavor, the most popular gelato in the shop, and Nishino Swiss Roll (西野ロール) Flavor, the second most popular gelato in the shop, at a cash register. The price was JPY 380.
Since the place for customers to enjoy foods and drinks is outside, I decided to eat my cake and gelato there. First I ate the Mont Blanc Cake Teineyama, the most popular cake in the shop, that was a mountain-shaped mont blanc cake. It was named after Mt. Teine (手稲山) near here. The cake wrapped with marron cream was based on a tart pie crust, and a maron was put on the top of the cake. A bear that appeared in the Mt. Teine was depicted with chocolate. The appearance had quite a lot of impact. The taste of the marron spread out in my mouth when I ate the marron cream. The sweetness was just right, and it was tasty, too! The bear's face made of the chocolate was pretty, too. A tart pie crust for a foundation had a crispy texture, and its taste was also good.
Last I ate my gelatos. I felt that this portion was too generous. The taste was refreshing, and the sweetness was just right, too. The Nishino Swiss Roll was mixed a swiss roll with ice cream, and the texture of the swiss roll was interesting. This was addictive. Thanks for the tasty sweets!

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
