[Mochigome-no-Sato Nayoro in Furen] Sweet and Chewy Soft Daifuku
Roadside Station "Mochigome-no-sato Nayoro (もち米の里☆なよろ)" is a roadside station in Fuuren, Nayoro city located in the northern direction of Asahikawa city, and is famous for selling Soft Daifuku (ソフト大福), a rice cake stuffed with sweetened bean jam. The Furen is the largest production center of glutinous rice in Hokkaido, and it is well-known as a production center supplying raw materials of "Akafuku Rice Cake in Ise (伊勢の赤福餅)" and "Millet Dumpling in Okayama (岡山のきび団子)". Those are famous Japanese-style rice cakes, and Hakucho-mochi Glutinous Rice (はくちょうもち) is used in those. The Hakucho-mochi glutinous rice is not hardened even if time passes. Soft Daifuku had 18 types of flavors, and the price was JPY 126 per one. I bought 2 Soft Daifuku with blue honeysuckle flavor and cheese flavor this time, and decided to eat those outside. Outside rice cake had elasticity and soft chewy texture. The sweetness of bean jam was very rich. It was a little too sweet for me, but there were a lots of fans around me. I supposed that it was excellent rice cake for people with a sweet tooth. Thanks for the tasty rice cake!
I savored a melon flavored soft daifuku and a strawberry daifuku on another day.
