[Akai Ribon Head Office in Iwamizawa] Berry Tart Is Not Too Sweeter than Its Looks
Akai Ribbon
Akai Ribbon (赤いリボン) is a long-established western confectionery store based in Iwamizawa city located in the northeastern direction of Sapporo city, and has been established since 1978. * Akai Ribbon means "Red Ribbon" in English. Akai Ribon corp. (赤いリボン有限会社) runs it, and Mr. Ikuo Takaya (高谷 郁男) is a company president. It is a main feature that their confectioneries use maple syrup, and Baumkuchen and Maple Leaf Pie are famous. Akai Ribon 10jo Branch facing National Route 12 has head office functions, and some other branches open a business in the Iwamizawa, and they manage Maple Club with a tea room.

Berry Tart
I heard from my older sister that their cakes were tasty, so I visited the Akai Ribon 10jo Branch around 14:00 on a weekday. The store has a typical atmosphere of a western confectionery store. I asked a waitress about store's recommendation in front of a showcase, and she replied to me "That is Berry Tart (ベリータルト)", so I ordered it. The price was JPY 410.

After asking whether I could eat it at the store, she served my Berry Tart on a dish. A place for custmers to enjoy foods and drinks is provided at the store, and tea and coffee were available at a self-service counter. I sat at a table seat, and I ate the tart immediately. The appearance of the berry tart looked very sweet, but it was not too sweet. It was tasty! The outside was crunchy pie, and the inside was smooth custard cream. Chewy almonds increased a change in the taste. Thanks for the tasty tart!
