[RAMAI in Sapporo] Indonesian Soup Curry Made From Chicken Soup with Many Fruits and Cabbages

Asian Bar RAMAI (ラマイ) is an Indonesian soup curry restaurant founded in 2003, and is run by Ramai Corp. Mr. Shimon Kawada (河田志門) is a company president. Their head office is in Toyohira Ward, Sapporo city, and branch restaurants open a business in the Sapporo, Asahikawa, Otaru, Chitose, Tomakomai, Hakodate, Yokohama and Osaka. My friend told me that the soup curry of the RAMAI was tasty, so I visited Sapporo Central Branch (札幌中央店) this time. The restaurant facing Tsukisamu Street (月寒通) is relatively near Susukino, and is so large, and 112 tables are provided at the restaurant. It is said that it is the largest soup curry restaurant in Japan. The restaurant is a little dark, and has an Indonesian atmosphere by interior decoration and furniture. All seats are a half private room with table seats, so I guess that family customers also enjoy meals.
Sapporo (札幌) that about 1,960,000 people live is the largest city in Hokkaido. Although there are various theories, its origin of the name is "Dry Big River (乾いた大きな川)" in Ainu language. A population of the Sapporo is the 4th largest city after Yokohama, Osaka and Nagoya in japan, and the population accounts for 36 % of Hokkaido's population! So the Sapporo has been flourished as the center of the Hokkaido. The area of the Sapporo is 1,121.26 km2, and is about as big as Hong Kong, and is the 7th largest city in the Hokkaido. The Sapporo is also famous as a tourist city, and about 15 million people come. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 25 degrees in a summer, but it is easy to live without moisture. I always feel a little cool. It is cold that temperature falls to nearly -10 degrees in a winter, and amount of snowfall sometimes has more than 1 m. Article is here
Soup curry (スープカレー) is a dish to eat rice into soup using various spices with vegetables and meats. Only curry and rice was once a curry dish in Japan, but the soup curry has become popular for these 20 years. Ajanta (アジャンタ) and Magic Spice (マジックスパイス) in Sapporo sparked the soup curry boom, and it is said that the origin of the soup curry is medicinal cooking curry (薬膳カリィ) cooked by Mr. Muneo Tatsujiri (辰尻 宗男), ex-restraunt owner of the Ajanta, and a new genre of a curry dish has been established. I visited here at just opening hour. I sat at a table seat, and asked a waiter about their recommendations, and he replied "Chicken Soup Curry (チキンスープカレー)". In addition, I asked he how to order, so he replied that I should choose a type of soup curry, a hotness, a quantity of soup and a quantity of rice. Therefore I ordered the Chicken Soup Curry, a regular hotness, a regular soup and 300 g of rice. The price was JPY 1100. As for the quantity of the rice, rice named Kintamani is on a menu, and customers could order 1 kg of the rice. The waiter told me "A lot people would order it". It is amazing!
The soup curry had much spice since it was an Indonesia style dish. It featured that the chicken soup made broth from a lot of fruits and cabbages. A spicy taste were mixed cayenne pepper with garam masala. The rice was nasi kuning. It seemed to be seasoned with coconut milk flavor added the spices. The spicy soup curry was tasty!
