[Shizunai Onsen in Shinhidaka] Day Trip Bath and Comfortable New Building Can Be Enjoyed at Shinhidaka Townspeople Recreation Center Shizunai Onsen
Shizunai Onsen (静内温泉) is a hot spring place in Shinhidaka town located in the southeastern direction of Tomakomai city. Hot springs were discovered in 1899. Only Shinhidaka Townspeople Recreation Center Shizunai Onsen (新ひだか町町民保養施設 静内温泉) is surrounded by mountains that are forest park. There are facilities such as an indoor gate ball ground and a camping ground, a tennis court at the forest park, and young and old people can enjoy, too. The distance is around 8 km far away from the center of Shizunai, and a convenience store is not built around here.
Famous tourist attractions around the Shizunai Onsen are some great places for the cherry blossom viewing such as Nijukkendouro Sakuranamiki (静内二十間道路桜並木), Yushun Sakura Road (優駿さくらロード) and Mitsuishi Utafue Shrine (三石歌笛神社), so the tourists should visit those in a spring. Other famous tourist attractions are Racing Horse Guide center Hidaka Branch (競走馬のふるさと日高案内所), Mautayama Observatory (真歌山展望台) and Mt. Horai (蓬莱山). The Shinhidaka is well-known as a thoroughbred horse production place, and a ranch tour is popular, too. Speaking of tasty restaurants in the Shinhidaka, Amaya (あま屋), Kirin (喜輪) and Restraunt "Hatago" (レストラン 旅篭) are popular in particular. I ate ramen noodle at Ryouka. It was so tasty. By the way, an express bus "Limited Express Hidaka Yushun-go (特急ひだか優駿号)", a highway bus, runs between New Chitose Airport and the Urakawa, and an express bus "Kosoku Pegasus-go (高速ペガサス号)", a highway bus, runs between Sapporo and the Urakawa, and an express bus "Kosoku Erimo-go (高速えりも号)", a highway bus, runs between the Sapporo and the Erimo, and those buses stop at the Shizunai.

Along the straight line road with 7 km in total length, about 2,200 cherry trees including Yezo Mountain Cherry Tree (エゾヤマザクラ) and Korean Hill Cherry (カスミザクラ) are in full glory. Here is well-known as one of the most famous spots to see cherry blossoms in Hokkaido.
