[Sekineppu Lookout Open Space in Kushiro] Beautiful Sea Scenery Can Be Seen from Parking Lot
CONTENTS
Sekineppu Lookout Open Space
Sekineppu Lookout Open Space (セキネップ展望広場) is a scenic place in Kushiro town located in the eastern direction of Kushiro city, and is also located Senboushi that is famous as a producing center for oysters between the Kushiro city and Akkeshi town. The Sekineppu means "A mountain with a few trees, and a place that stones fall" in Ainu language. The Sekineppu Lookout Open Space is built along Hokkaido Road 142 called "Northern Pacific Ocean Seaside Line (北太平洋シーサイドライン)", and the road is not often crowded with cars, so I think that drivers can enjoy driving while seeing a good scenery. A few visitors come here, so here is a little-known tourist spot. Only a parking lot and a temporary restroom are built at the site. Admission free. The parking lot is free of charge. * It is closed in a winter season.

KUSHIRO
Kushiro (釧路) that about 170,000 people live is the 5th largest fisheries city in Hokkaido, and is one of regional hub cities of the Eastern Hokkaido area. The Kushiro became incorporated with Akan town (阿寒) and Onbetsu (音別) in 2005, and has became the 3rd largest city by area in the Hokkaido. In Japan, it is the 7th latgest city by the area. The Kushiro is also well-known as a tourist city with rich nature, and has 2 very famous national parks, Kushiro-Shitsugen wetland (釧路湿原), the largest wetland in the Japan, and Lake Akan (阿寒湖) consisted by primeval forests and lava. Look of Sekineppu Lookout Open Space
The Sekineppu Lookout Open Space is on sheer cliffs of about 120 m elevation. Just sheer cliffs are seen from the sea, but a comfortable view is seen from the land side. Here is a good place to take a rest while diriving. Only the parking lot is here, so I guess that it takes about 15 minutes to look around. The sheer cliffs are on the opposite side of the road, and the Pacific Ocean can be viwed on the sheer cliffs. A candle-shaped rocks and an octopus-shaped rocks seem to be seen. A nice view can be enjoyed if it is fine weather.

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.

Thank you for letting me know!
It has good photos.
Speaking of Hokkaido, just a day ago, an account has followed me on Instagram. The name is “My Eastern Hokkaido”: https://www.instagram.com/eastern_hokkaido/
I have looked into the website and found this one has contents almost similar like yours. It promotes the Hokkaido’s charms on the east region. The web seems new n created by independent blogger who lives in Kitami. You can check it for your reference here: https://www.myeasternhokkaido.com/
Here is a little-known tourist spot.
Few people come, so I guess that overseas tourists do not know this place.
But a view is very clear.
As for the Bali,
you are completely right.
I was mistaken, and will correct it.
Thanks George!
That is so breathtaking!
Vast view to the horizon without any obstacles. Just give me some bottle of beers and I will just sit there n do nothing for a day. Haha..
A bit correction for this:
“one of the three major places to see the beautiful setting sun in the world together with Manila and Bali in Philippines”
Bali is actually in Indonesia.
Have a nice day!
