Tasty Sea Urchin Rice Bowl Is Made of Horse-Dung Sea Urchin -Isoyakitei in Rishiri-
September 12th, 2015
Isoyakitei (磯焼亭) is a restaurant in front of Oshidomari Ferry Port in Rishiri Island and is famous for getting the Bib Gourmand in MICHELIN GUIDE Hokkaido 2012 Special Edition. Because ramen seemed to be popular, but I wanted to eat a sea urchin which grew up and eat Rishiri kombu, I visited to eat Fresh Sea Urchin Rice Bowl (生ウニ丼) limited from June to September around 17:00 on weekdays.
By the way, a waiter told me that the ramen seemed to be sold out at dinner. I sat at a table and ordered the fresh sea urchin rice bowl and a beer. The price of the sea urchin rice bowl was JPY 4000 and the price of beer was JPY 600.
2 minutes later, the beer was served, and the sea urchin rice bowl was served afterwards. Contents of combo were the sea urchin rice bowl, a dish of nishime kombu, a bowl of miso soup and a dish of pickled radishes. Orange horse-dung sea urchin and green wasabi caught my eyes when I opened a cover of the rice bowl at once. The horse-dung sea urchin was orange, and purple sea urchin was whitish color. I ate the horse-dung sea urchin, it was very tasty! It had a strong sweetness and I had eaten exhaustively as soon as I ate the sea urchin with rice. Fishing season of the horse-dung sea urchin is July and August. Because a day when I came was September 1, I was able to barely eat fresh horse-dung sea urchin.
