Yuhigaoka Observation Deck (夕日ヶ丘展望台) is located in the northern part of Rishiri Island (利尻島) and is relatively located near Oshidomari Ferry Terminal (鴛泊フェリーターミナル). Altitude is about 50 m and is half high of Cape Peshi. Yuhigaoka means a hill of the setting sun in Japanese language because the setting sun looked beautiful. It takes about 7 minutes from an entrance to the top of the hill. Tourists can see Ponmoshiri Island (ポンモシリ島), Fujinoenchi Observatory (富士野園地展望台) and Rebun Island (礼文島) on the left and can see Cape Peshi (ペシ岬) on the right. There are not sightseeing facilities such as a restroom or a stall, but it is a popular tourist attraction. Admission free. A parking lot is free of charge.
