I went around the Rishiri Island by a rental motor scooter, it was very comfortable. By the way, tourists raise their hand and can get on the bus when the route bus happened to pass, and the tourists can get off the bus without bus stops. In addtion, hotel lists of the Rishiri Island is this.

Mt. Rishiridake

Mt. Rishiridake (利尻岳) is a lofty mountain in the center of the Rishiri Island. Another name is "Mt. Rishirifuji". There are mainly 3 climbing routes, Oniwaki route located in the southern part of the island, Kutsugata route located in the western part of the island and Oshidomari route located in the northern part of the island. Mountaintop have 2 peaks, the north peak is located at 1,719 m above sea level and the south peak is located at 1,721 m above sea level. But the south peak was in danger of the collapse, and an entrance was prohibited from the Oniwaki route above the 7th stage of the Mt. Rishirifuji. Therefore mountain climbers climb to the north peak from the Kutsugata route and the Oshidomari route commonly.
