October 13th, 2015
Kanrosensui Spring (甘露泉水) is a famous spring around the third station at 290 m above sea level on a trail to Mt. Rishirifuji (利尻富士) in the northern part of Rishiri Island (利尻島). Water temperature is 5.5 degrees through all season and it is soft water with tasty and very cold. Because everybody felt water to be sweet, it was named Kanrosensui. It was selected as "100 Exquisite Waters in Japan". Tourists just walk along a path about 500 m from Rishiri Hokuroku Camping Ground (利尻北麓野営場), a trailhead of the Oshidomari Course, to the Kanrosensui Spring. The path is wooden path, and it is easy to walk the path from the trailhead to the Kanrosensui Spring. There was not facility called a drinking fountain, and a brook just flowed. It seemed to be able to drink the water at a gushing place. When I came, a glass was provided. Because this is last watering place, it is the water which is nice for mountain climbers.
