[Suzuki Shokudo in Nemuro] Raw Saury Rice Bowl Can Be Eaten at The Easternmost Restraunt in Japan Mainland
Suzuki Shokudo (鈴木食堂) is a popular restraunt near Nosappu-misaki Lighthouse and Bokyo-no-misaki Park (望郷の岬公園) in Cape Nosappu, Nemuro city, and is famous as the easternmost restraunt in Japan mainland, and also is well-known for the originator of Raw Saury Rice bowl (生さんま丼). In addition, they sell live Hanasaki Crab at the restraunt, and Hanasaki Crab sashimi can be eaten, too. They also run Rider House Suzuki (ライダーハウス鈴木), and it is popular with motorcycle tourists and cycle tourists from all over the Japan.
The building faces the sea, and has a feeling of the farthest. The interior decoration is an atmosphere such as a typical beachside restraunt. The restraunt is not small, and counter seats, table seats and small separate Japanese style tables are provided, so I guess that even family customers enjoy meals.
By the way, Express Aurora-go (オーロラ号), an express bus, runs between Sapporo and the Nemuro, and Limited Express Nemuro-go (特急ねむろ号), an express bus, runs between the Kushiro and the Nemuro. Unfortunately, the express bus does not run between New Chitose Airport and the Nemuro. Besides, Rent-a-car can be rented around Nemuro Station.
Cape Nosappu (納沙布岬) is a cape in the eastern part of Nemuro city, and was named after "A place that the cape is like jutting out a chin" in Ainu language. As its name suggests, the cape is at the tip of Nemuro Peninsula, and is well-known as the easternmost tip in Japan mainland, and a lot of tourists come to view a scenery such as 4 northern islands (北方四島) and Shiretoko Peninsula (知床半島). The Cape Nosappu is also famous as a place to see the earliest morning sun in the Japan, and is crowded with visitors to watch the first sunrise on New Year's Day. First Sunrise of a New Year in Cape Nosappu (納沙布岬初日詣) is held in January 1. Admission free. A parking lot is free of charge. Read More

Raw Saury Rice Bowl
I visited here to eat the Raw Saury Rice Bowl around 13:00 on a weekday. There was no customer when I entered the restraunt. But 5 groups of customers came to the restraunt in succession. This restraunt was popular after all. Most of the customers were motorcycle riders. I sat at a table seat, and ordered the Raw Saury Rice Bowl. The price was JPY 1100. By the way, customers have to help themselves to water and drinks.
About 10 minutes later, the Raw Saury Rice Bowl was served with a dish of pickles and a bowl of miso soup. I saw the Raw Saury Rice Bowl for the first time. Rice was closely covered with slices of saury, and the center was topped with flying fish roe. The appearance looked beautiful, and sharpened my appetite.
I ate it immediately. It was tasty! The saury sashimi coated with tasty sauce stimulated my appetite. In addition, the flying fish roe went well with the saury sashimi. Since it was too tasty, I ate it rapidly and greedily. Thanks for the tasty meal!
