[Shingen Hanakawa Head Office in Ishikari] Rich Taste Miso Broth Ramen Like Pork Bone Broth Ramen
Shingen
Ramen Shingen (らーめん信玄) is a popular ramen restaurant based in Hanakawa, Ishikari city adjacent to the northern direction of Sapporo city, and is run by Sengoku corp. (有限会社センゴク). Miso Broth Ramen has a good reputation. The head office is in the Ishikari, and a ramen restaurant branch opens a business in Susukino, Sapporo. Ramen Kagetora (らーめん影虎) is a sister ramen restaurant. I guess that those names are named after Mr. Shingen Takeda (武田信玄) and Mr. Kagetora Nagao (長尾景虎 * Before Kenshin Uesugi (上杉謙信)), warring lords, so as its company name suggests, I suppose that an owner love the Sengoku period in Japan. * The Sengoku means "Warring States period" in Japanese.

My visited place is the Hanakawa Head Office facing Ishikari Teine Street (石狩手稲通り), and is near Ishikari Fire Station. The ramen restaurant with an atmosphere such as a typical ramen restraunt is not so large. Counter seats, table seats and a small separate Japanese style room are provided, so I guess that even family customers may enjoy meals. But the ramen restraunt is crowded with customers at lunchtime.

Ramen of Hokkaido
Ramen is a noodle soup dish topped with ingredients. It is said that Chinese noodles is the root of the ramen, and there are various theories, for example, Mr. Mistukuni Tokugawa (徳川光圀 * Mitokomon (水戸黄門)) ate the ramen in 1697 for the first time in Japan or the first ramen was that Keitaimen noodles (経帯麺) served in 1488 was written in Biryueken Diary (蔭涼軒日録). Noodle soup dishes were spread out in Japan because Nanking noodles (南京そば) was served in various China Towns, Japan. In Hakodate with a China Town, Yowaken (養和軒) served the Nanking noodles in 1884. In Sapporo, it is a root of Sapporo Ramen that a noodle soup dish was cooked by Mr. Wang Wen Zai (王 文彩), a chief chef of Takeya Shokudo (竹家食堂), in 1922. Houran (芳蘭), a branch of the Takeya Shokudo, opened a business in 1933 in Asahikawa. Asahikawa Ramen, Sapporo Ramen and Hakodate Ramen called the 3 Major Ramen in Hokkaido were born. But current ramen do not succeed to the taste of those ramen. Read More

I visited here around 10:50, 10 minutes before opening hour, and I waited until the opening hour at my car. No other customers did not wait. But 8 groups of visitors began to come to the ramen restaurant in sequence at 10:55. It was the popular ramen restaurant after all. I sat at a counter seat, and ordered Shinshu (信州 (コク味噌ラーメン * Rich Taste Miso Broth Ramen)), the most popular ramen. The price was JPY 760. The Shinshu is another name for Shinano Province (信濃国) governed by Mr. Shingen, and is called "Nagano Prefecture (長野県)" at present.

About 10 minutes later, the ramen was served. A roasted pork fillet, bamboo shoots, fried bean sprouts and green onions were on noodles. I ate a sip of soup immediately. The soup stewed for 50 hours or more was different taste from common salty sweet miso broth ramen that I imagined. It was mild taste like pork bone soup stock ramen. I did not mind salt, too. The soup was tasty!

The noodles were egg noodles made by Kobayashi Making-noodles Factory (小林製麺), and went well with the soup. The bacon shaped roasted pork fillet was one of highlights, too. It was good! I had finished eating it quickly. Thanks for the tasty ramen!

In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons.
