Q
Q (キュー) is a ramen restraunt and a restraunt sold grilled chicken on a skewer in Chuo ward, Sapporo city, and is near Sapporo Clock Tower (札幌時計台). At same place, Ramen is served at lunchtime and a part of dinnertime, and a grilled chicken on a skewer is served at the dinnertime. In addition, restraunt managers are different at each time zones. They try new ideas. The restaurant is a little hard to find, but a signboard appears in front of an entrance, and the restaurant is on the 1st basement floor of Rindo Building (りんどうビル). Now each restraunts are renamed as "Yakitori, Wine, Sake, Q (ヤキトリ、ワイン、日本酒、Q)" and "Japanese Ramen Noodle Lab Q". The following is an article before renaming.

Mr. Hiroshi Hiraoka (平岡寛視), a ramen restraunt manager, is a ex-pro snowboarder, and used to cook ramen at Ippudo (一風堂), a famous Hakata ramen restraunt for pork broth ramen. He has started his own business since 2014, and has ran the ramen restaurant. The ramen restaurant with a stylish atmosphere is relatively large, and looks like a dining bar. All seats are counter seats at the lunchtime. A large table is in the center of the ramen restraunt, and customers share the table. Because the ramen restraunt is crowded with customers in busy time, I guess that family customers and a large number of customers may not enjoyed.

Sapporo Clock Tower
Sapporo Clock Tower (札幌市時計台) is a historical building built in 1978 in Chuo ward, Sapporo city, and has been designated as a national important cultural property. It is well-known as a symbol of the Sapporo, and one of the most famous tourist attractions in the Sapporo. The clock tower is next to Sapporo City Hall (札幌市役所), Hokkaido Newspaper Head Office (北海道新聞本社) and Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (札幌商工会議所), and is also near Odori Park (大通公園) and Sapporo Sosei Square (さっぽろ創世スクエア). SAPPORO
Sapporo (札幌) that about 1,960,000 people live is the largest city in Hokkaido. Although there are various theories, its origin of the name is "Dry Big River (乾いた大きな川)" in Ainu language. A population of the Sapporo is the 4th largest city after Yokohama, Osaka and Nagoya in japan, and the population accounts for 36 % of Hokkaido's population! So the Sapporo has been flourished as the center of the Hokkaido. The area of the Sapporo is 1,121.26 km2, and is about as big as Hong Kong, and is the 7th largest city in the Hokkaido. The Sapporo is also famous as a tourist city, and about 15 million people come. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 25 degrees in a summer, but it is easy to live without moisture. I always feel a little cool. It is cold that temperature falls to nearly -10 degrees in a winter, and amount of snowfall sometimes has more than 1 m. Read More

Ramen of Hokkaido
Ramen is a noodle soup dish topped with ingredients. It is said that Chinese noodles is the root of the ramen, and there are various theories, for example, Mr. Mistukuni Tokugawa (徳川光圀 * Mitokomon (水戸黄門)) ate the ramen in 1697 for the first time in Japan or the first ramen was that Keitaimen noodles (経帯麺) served in 1488 was written in Biryueken Diary (蔭涼軒日録). Noodle soup dishes were spread out in Japan because Nanking noodles (南京そば) was served in various China Towns, Japan. In Hakodate with a China Town, Yowaken (養和軒) served the Nanking noodles in 1884. In Sapporo, it is a root of Sapporo Ramen that a noodle soup dish was cooked by Mr. Wang Wen Zai (王 文彩), a chief chef of Takeya Shokudo (竹家食堂), in 1922. Houran (芳蘭), a branch of the Takeya Shokudo, opened a business in 1933 in Asahikawa. Asahikawa Ramen, Sapporo Ramen and Hakodate Ramen called the 3 Major Ramen in Hokkaido were born. But current ramen do not succeed to the taste of those ramen. Read More

Creamy Chicken Broth Salt Ramen
I visited here around 13:00 on a weekday. Customers have to purchase a meal ticket via a meal ticket vending machine in front of the entrance. Soy Sauce Ramen with Light Soup (清湯醤油) was most popular, but I wanted to eat Creamy Chicken Broth Salt Ramen (白鶏湯しお), so purchased it. The price was JPY 850. 7 customers enjoyed their meals at that time. I guessed that they looked all solo customers. Because it has an atmosphere with peace of mind, I think that female is also easy to enter. In fact, 3 solo female customers came.

I shared the large table, and waited for about 10 minutes, and the ramen was served. Roasted pork fillets, green onions, onions, spinach and shredded chili pepper were on noodles. The ramen looked beautiful. The soup made from shintoku native chicken and potherb soup stock was creamy and rich taste, and was tasty! The hotness of minced onions did a pretty good job, too.

The noodles were topped with 2 pieces of roasted meat fillets, roasted pork fillet and roasted chicken fillet, and the roasted pork fillet was very tender! The flat noodles made by Sudo Noodles Factory (須藤製麺製) were chewy, and went well with the soup. I could understand that the ramen restraunt was popular after all. Thanks for the tasty ramen!

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
