[Fuji in Otofuke] Light Soup and Homemade Noodles Makes Tasty Salt Broth Ramen
CONTENTS
Fuji
Ramen Sobo Fuji (らあめん創房藤) is a popular ramen restraunt in Otofuke town located in the northeastern direction of Obihiro city, and is near Kenko House Kino Onsen (健康ハウス木野温泉) and Kino Golf Center (木野ゴルフセンター). Mr. Toshinori Abe (阿部 利徳), a ramen restraunt owner, moved from the Obihiro to the Otofuke in 2007. Niten (二天), a popular buckwheat noodles restaurant in the Otofuke, is a sister restraunt with the Fuji.

The stylish appearance such as a cafe is not just like the ramen restraunt. The ramen restraunt with the warmth of woods is large, and is new. Counter seats and table seats are provided, so I guess that even family customers enjoy meals. A ramen restraunt philosophy book is provided with a menu, too.

By the way, a highway bus "Potato Liner (ポテトライナー)" runs between the Obihiro and the Sapporo, and a express bus "North Liner-go (ノースライナー号)" runs between the Obihiro and Asahikawa.
Ramen of Hokkaido
Ramen is a noodle soup dish topped with ingredients. It is said that Chinese noodles is the root of the ramen, and there are various theories, for example, Mr. Mistukuni Tokugawa (徳川光圀 * Mitokomon (水戸黄門)) ate the ramen in 1697 for the first time in Japan or the first ramen was that Keitaimen noodles (経帯麺) served in 1488 was written in Biryueken Diary (蔭涼軒日録). Noodle soup dishes were spread out in Japan because Nanking noodles (南京そば) was served in various China Towns, Japan. In Hakodate with a China Town, Yowaken (養和軒) served the Nanking noodles in 1884. In Sapporo, it is a root of Sapporo Ramen that a noodle soup dish was cooked by Mr. Wang Wen Zai (王 文彩), a chief chef of Takeya Shokudo (竹家食堂), in 1922. Houran (芳蘭), a branch of the Takeya Shokudo, opened a business in 1933 in Asahikawa. Asahikawa Ramen, Sapporo Ramen and Hakodate Ramen called the 3 Major Ramen in Hokkaido were born. But current ramen do not succeed to the taste of those ramen. Read More

Salt Broth Ramen
I visited here around 11:00 on a weekday. 3 people lined up before staring business hour. I sat at a counter seat, and read a menu, and ordered Salt Broth Ramen (塩ラーメン) with a large serving of noodles. The price was JPY 900. While wainig for the ramen, I read the ramen restraunt philosophy book, and was full of happy expectations. By the way, the name of the ramen restraunt comes from the name of owner's grand mother.

About 10 minutes later, the salt ramen with the large serving of noodles was served. A roasted pork fillet, bamboo shoot, a boiled egg, a dried laver and Japanese honewort like plant were on noodles. It looked good. Soup was made from homegrown cooking ingredients with pork bone soup stock and chicken soup stock, and was seasoned with natrual salt produced in Okinawa. The pale soup looked tasty. I ate a sip of a soup immediately. Tasty light taste spreaded over in my mouth. It reminded me of Salt Broth Ramen of Asahi Shokudo (あさひ食堂のしおラーメン) in Kamikawa. It was tasty!

The whitish homemade noodles used wheat produced in Hokkaido, and the appearance was just like vermicellifine noodles. It had a smooth texture, and was tasty! The noodles went well with the soup. The owner was particular about other types of ramen, and I want to eat those. Thanks for the tasty ramen!

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
