[Naruto in Obihiro] Health-conscious Tasty Ramen with Light Taste
Ramen Kitchen Naruto (ラーメンキッチンなると) is a popular ramen restaurant founded in 2009 in Seiryu, Obihiro city, and is near Obihiro Technical High School (帯広工業高校). The appearance of a building is not a typical ramen restaurant, and is like Italian restaurant. A noodle studio is build beside the building. The ramen restaurant is not so small, and a lot of manga are provided, so local people relax themselves. Counter seats and table seats are provided, so I guess that even family customers enjoy meals.
By the way, a highway bus "Potato Liner (ポテトライナー)" runs between the Obihiro and the Sapporo, and a express bus "North Liner-go (ノースライナー号)" runs between the Obihiro and Asahikawa. Besides, Rent-a-car can be rented around Obihiro Station and Obihiro Airport.
Obihiro (帯広) that about 170,000 people live is the 6th largest commercial city in Hokkaido, and is one of regional hub cities of the Eastern Hokkaido area. It has flourished as the center of the Tokachi district. The Obihiro is also a stockyard for agricultural products in whole Tokachi district, and Potato, Beet, Wheat and Chinese Yam are famous as a local product. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 30 degrees in a summer, and it is cold that temperature falls to nearly -20 degrees in a winter. It has a large temperature gap, but it has less snow relatively in the Hokkaido. Therefore skating is popular in the winter. Mr. Hiroyasu Shimizu, an olympic gold medalist, come from the Obihiro, and there is much competition population of the skating. Read More
Ramen of Hokkaido
Ramen is a noodle soup dish topped with ingredients. It is said that Chinese noodles is the root of the ramen, and there are various theories, for example, Mr. Mistukuni Tokugawa (徳川光圀 * Mitokomon (水戸黄門)) ate the ramen in 1697 for the first time in Japan or the first ramen was that Keitaimen noodles (経帯麺) served in 1488 was written in Biryueken Diary (蔭涼軒日録). Noodle soup dishes were spread out in Japan because Nanking noodles (南京そば) was served in various China Towns, Japan. In Hakodate with a China Town, Yowaken (養和軒) served the Nanking noodles in 1884. In Sapporo, it is a root of Sapporo Ramen that a noodle soup dish was cooked by Mr. Wang Wen Zai (王 文彩), a chief chef of Takeya Shokudo (竹家食堂), in 1922. Houran (芳蘭), a branch of the Takeya Shokudo, opened a business in 1933 in Asahikawa. Asahikawa Ramen, Sapporo Ramen and Hakodate Ramen called the 3 Major Ramen in Hokkaido were born. But current ramen do not succeed to the taste of those ramen. Read More
Naruto Soy Sauce Broth Ramen
I visited here around 17:30 on a weekday. 2 groups of family customers enjoyed their meals. I sat at a counter seat, and ordered Naruto Soy Sause Broth Ramen (なると醤油) with a high reputation. The price was JPY 750. Water is available at self-service counter.
About 10 minutes later, the ramen was served. Roasted pork fillets, bamboo shoots, a boiled egg, green onions and a dried laver were on noodles. I ate a sip of soup immediately. The appearance looked like Miso Broth Ramen, but this was not it. The soup with shrimp flavor was blended chicken soup stock with fishery product soup stock, and I guessed that the shrimp flavor was unusual soup. The taste was very mild, and the fishery product soup stock was harmonized with the chicken soup stock. In addition, chemical seasoning was not used in the soup, and the soup was delicious. I think that light taste lovers favorite this ramen.
The noodles were homemade curled noodles without using any artificial colorants or preservatives, and were chewy. Those went well with the soup. The large roasted pork fillets were also good. This ramen filled with an idea of an owner was health-conscious ramen. Thanks for the tasty ramen.

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
