Pork Rice Bowl with Grilled Red and Black Pork Looks Tasty -Moritaya in Rikubetsu-
September 13th, 2016
Moritaya (森田屋) is a restraunt that is famous for garnering the Bib Gourmand in MICHELIN GUIDE Hokkaido 2012 Special Edition in Rikubetsu town located in the southwestern part of Kitami city and was founded in 1988. I visited here to eat a famous pork rice bowl (豚丼) around 15:00 on weekdays, too. A building has a typical atomosphere such as a buckwheat noodles restraunt. Of course, buckwheat noodles are served, too. There was no customer because of halfway lunch time when I came. Seats are counter seats, tables and a raised seating place, so family customers seem to enjoy. I sat at the raised seating place and ordered a large serving of the pork rice bowl. The price is JPY 900.
About 10 minutes later, the pork rice bowl with a dish of yellow pickled radish and a bowl of miso soup was served. Grilled red and black pork with luster looked tasty. A thickness is about 5 mm. The grilled pork was over well-done and tender. A salty-sweet taste was good. I like light taste, but I did not feel salty. They use rice produced in Hokkaido and use sauce that have been added from the beginning. It is a just dish with the history of the restraunt. By the way, the large serving of the pork rice bowl is very large, so a standard size seems to be good enough for a person with a small appetite.
