Sauce Pork Cutlet Rice Bowl Is Not Used Beaten Egg -Fukuyoshi in Kunneppu-
March 31st, 2015
Fukuyoshi (福よし) is a long-established restaurant in Kunneppu town located in the southwest part of Kitami city and was founded in 1950. Various dishes such as sushi and ramen are served. It is the restraunt loved by local people. Kunneppu is known as the pork cutlet rice bowl with sauce called tare katsudon, and in particular many tourists come to the Fukuyoshi as a pioneer of Kunneppu Tare Katsudon (訓子府たれカツ丼). The Tare katsudon is not tamagotoji katsudon (卵とじカツ丼 * pork cutlet rice bowl with beaten egg). The Tare Katsudon in Niigata Prefecture is famous, but, in fact, the Tare Katsudon is the local dish that rooted in Kunneppu town, too.
I visited here around 11:00 on weekdays. The restraunt had an atomosphere such as a sushi restaurant. There are many tables, so family customers seem to enjoy. I sat at a counter seat and read a menu. The menu had 2 kinds, the Katsudon and the Tamagotoji Katsudon, and the Katsudon is the Tare Katsudon. The price is JPY 800.
Approximately 10 minutes later, and the Tare Katsudon combo meal with a cup of soup and a dish of yellow pickled radish was served. The sauce was poured over the freshly deep-fried pork cutlet placed on the top of dried lavers spread over rice. The crunchy deep-fried pork cutlet was savory and tasty and is worth eating. I felt that the sauce was too salty, but this is a matter of personal preference. Salty lovers will enjoy it.
