[Naumann Onsen in Makubetsu] Day Trip Bath and Hot Springs with Smooth and Slippery Touch Can Be Enjoyed at Hotel Arco236
Naumann Onsen (ナウマン温泉) is a hot spring place in Churui, Makubetsu town located in the southern direction of Obihiro city, and only Hotel Arco236 along Hiroo National Route (広尾国道 * National Route 236) opens a business beside roadside station "Churui (忠類)". A fossil of Elephas Namadicus was excavated in 1969, and the Elephas Namadicus is a symbol of the Churui because complete skeleton was first succeeded in restoring in Japan. Hot springs were succeeded in drilling in 1992, so the hot spring place is named the Naumann Onsen. By the way, the Hotel Arco236 is close to Elephas Namadicus Museum (ナウマン象記念館), Elephas Namadicus Park (ナウマン公園), art objects of the Elephas Namadicus, Elephas Namadicus Park Campsite (ナウマン公園キャンプ場) and a park golf course. There is Hakugindai Ski Resort (白銀台スキー場) around the Naumann Onsen.
By the way, a highway bus "Potato Liner (ポテトライナー)" runs between the Obihiro and the Sapporo, and a express bus "North Liner-go (ノースライナー号)" runs between the Obihiro and Asahikawa.

Visitors can take a day trip bath at the Hotel Arco236.
Hotel Arco 236 is a small-sized onsen hotel founded in 1988, and Ambix corp runs it. An exposed concrete building awarded Public Buildings Association Top Prize in 2000. An entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 500. A large public bathhouse is crowded with local people and road station users. A staying is possible, too. Restaurant Furusato Churui (郷里 ちゅうるい) is at a building, too, and day trip bather can use it, too.
There are 1 open-air bath, 1 indoor bath, 1 whirlpool bath, 1 cascading bath, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at the bathhouse. The sunny bathhouse with a high ceiling have large windows, and are feeling good. The ceiling height is around 5 m. The semi-oval-shaped indoor bath is the size that about 8 people can take a bath, and the round whirlpool bath is the size that about 3 people can take a bath.
The open-air bath is the size that about 4-6 people can take a bath. Because there is not a roof, a sence of openness can be enjoyed. The open-air bath was renewed in 2017. New open-air bath is larger than old open-air bath.
Hot springs are simple hot spring, and are clear and colorless and have neither taste nor smell, and have a smooth and slippery touch. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 0.422 g/kg. Unfortunately, the hot springs are not drinkable because of chlorine sterilization. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A restroom and a hair dryer are installed at a dressing room. A free cold water dispenser provides at a resting place.
