Miyama Pass (深山峠) is a pass along Furano National Route (National Route 237) in Kami-furano town located in the southeastern direction of Asahikawa city, and the altitude is about 300 m. Miyama Pass Observation Deck (深山峠展望台) is built, too, and Tokachidake Mountain Range (十勝岳連峰) and Daisetsuzan Mountain Range can be seen from the viewing platform. It is said that July is the best season that the lavender is in full bloom in particular. Except the observation deck, There is Miyama-toge Art Park (深山峠アートパーク) with Trick Art Museum, a ferris wheel and a product promotion center.
Art works using optical illusion are displayed at the Trick Art Museum, and the admission fee is JPY 1300. Visitors can touch the art works with their hand, and cameras are allowed at the building. It seems to be popular for an instagrammable spot. The Ferris Wheel "Tokachidake Art View" with the hight of 50 m has a good view, and a standard ticket is JPY 600. It takes about 11 minutes to go a trip. * It opens from April to November. The product promotion center has Miyama Ice Cream Studio (深山アイス工房), Art Experience Corner (アート体験コーナー), BBQ (バーベキュー), Bakery Studio "Hana-kanmuri" (パン工房「花かんむり」) and a souvenir shop, and the visitors can enjoy eating, drinking and experience programs. THere are a parking lot and a public restroom on the site, too.
The distance is around 8 km away from the center of the Kami-furano, and restraunts and cafes such as Omoide-no-Furano (想い出のふらの), Table Top (テーブルトップ), Fujien (藤宴), Yamaichi (ヤマイチ) and coffee & bread En (えん) are built around the hilltop of the Miyama Pass. Shikisai-no-Oka Hill (四季彩の丘) is relatively near here. Speaking of the tasty restraunts in the Kami-furano, Mansaku (まん作) and Barbecue Restaurant "Hide" (焼肉秀) are popular in particular. I ate buckwheat noodles at the Mansaku, and those were tasty. By the way, a bus stop that Furano Bus "Express Lavender-go (ラベンダー号)" runs between Asahikawa and Furano is near here.
Shikisai-no-Oka Hill (四季彩の丘) is a tourist farm in Biei town located in the southeastern direction of Asahikawa city, and there are fields and flower fields on hillsides, and it is well-known for enjoying typical views of Hokkaido such as colorful flowers with Tokachidake Mountain Range (十勝岳連峰) as a backdrop. The flower fields can be savored from a spring to an autumn, and a snow tubing or a snowmobile can be played in a winter. Express Bus "Furano-go" (高速ふらの号) runs between Sapporo and the Furano, and Express Bus "Lavender-go" (ラベンダー号) runs between Asahikawa and the Furano. Miyama Pass Lavender Garden
Miyama Pass Lavender Garden (深山峠ラベンダーオーナー園) is an owner system lavender field around the top of the Miyama Pass, and is cuts off the national route, and is opposite to the Omoide-no-Furano.
