Cool Dam -Lake Nibutani in Biratori-

Lake Nibutani (二風谷湖) is a man-made lake in Biratori town. Nibutani Dam (二風谷ダム) was built in 1997 and the Lake Nibutani was borned. The Nibutani Dam is a concrete gravity dam with 32 m in height, and it features that the form is cool. In addition, there was a sacred place for Ainu people once, and it is famous that a lawsuit about expropriation of land is filed. There are Sarugawa History Building (沙流川歴史館), Nibutani Ainu History Building (二風谷アイヌ歴史館), a walk path, Chashi Park (チャシ公園) around Lake Nibutani. A dam card is distributed at Nibutani Dam Management Branch (二風谷ダム管理所) and the Sarugawa History Building. Admission free. A parking lot is free of charge.
