Miso Broth Ramen Is Inherited Directly from Saimi -Harukichi in Kitami-

Menya Harukichi (麺屋はる吉) is a popular ramen restraunt founded in 2008 in Taisho, Kitami city, and is near Ryokuryo High School (緑陵高校). Mr. Ryoji Beharu (邊春 良次) is a ramen restraunt. After he trained his cooking skill at Saimi (彩未), one of the best ramen restraunts in Hokkaido, and has become independent. He is only a few people allowed to become independent by the Saimi. The name of the Saimi is written on a noren. Speaking of the Saimi, they succeeded the taste of Sumire (すみれ), so the Harukichi is a Junsumi style (純すみ系) ramen restraunt. * Mrs. Akiko Muranaka (村中 明子) established Sumire (純連), and her sons succeeded the taste of mother' ramen, and established Junren (純連) and the Sumire, so Akiko's ramen are called the Junsumi style. An owner of the Saimi trained his cooking skill at the Sumire. The Harukichi was given the MICHELIN PLATE by MICHELIN Hokkaido 2017 Special Edition. A single story building is relatively new, and looks clean. The ramen restraunt with an atomosphere such as new ramen restraunt is not large. Counter seats and table seats are provided, so I guess that even family customers enjoy meals.

Kitami (北見) that about 120,000 people live is the 9th largest commercial city in Hokkaido, and is one of regional hub cities of the Northeastern Hokkaido area. The Kitami became incorporated with Rubeshibe town (留辺蘂), Tanno town (端野) and Tokoro town (常呂) in 2006, and has became the largest city by area in the Hokkaido. In Japan, it is the 4th latgest city by the area. The Kitami is also an agriculture city, and Onion and White Runner Bean are famous as a local product. As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 30 degrees in a summer, and it is cold that temperature falls to nearly -25 degrees in a winter, and it snow hard, too. Article is here
Ramen of Hokkaido
Ramen is a noodle soup dish topped with ingredients. It is said that Chinese noodles is the root of the ramen, and there are various theories, for example, Mr. Mistukuni Tokugawa (徳川光圀 * Mitokomon (水戸黄門)) ate the ramen in 1697 for the first time in Japan or the first ramen was that Keitaimen noodles (経帯麺) served in 1488 was written in Biryueken Diary (蔭涼軒日録). Noodle soup dishes were spread out in Japan because Nanking noodles (南京そば) was served in various China Towns, Japan. In Hakodate with a China Town, Yowaken (養和軒) served the Nanking noodles in 1884. In Sapporo, it is a root of Sapporo Ramen that a noodle soup dish was cooked by Mr. Wang Wen Zai (王 文彩), a chief chef of Takeya Shokudo (竹家食堂), in 1922. Houran (芳蘭), a branch of the Takeya Shokudo, opened a business in 1933 in Asahikawa. Asahikawa Ramen, Sapporo Ramen and Hakodate Ramen called the 3 Major Ramen in Hokkaido were born. Miso Broth Ramen
Because I heard that people often lined up, I visited here around 17:00, just dinner opening time, on a weekday. As I expected, no customer came. I sat at a counter seat, and asked a waiter about restraunt's recommendation. Then he replied me "Miso Broth Ramen (味噌ラーメン)". As I expected, speaking of the Saimi, the Miso Broth Ramen was popluar. I ordered it. The price was JPY 750.
About 10 minutes later, the ramen was served. A roasted pork fillet, bamboo shoots, bean sprout, cloud ear mushrooms, green onions and grated ginger were on noodles. Green color of the green onions was accent color. The appearance looked beautiful. I ate a sip of soup immediately. It was tasty! The grated ginger worked good as well as the Saimi, and the soup was not too salty than I imagined, and it was just right sweet-salty taste. In adittion, it was light and mild taste unexpectedly. I guess that light taste lovers favorite this taste.
The chewy noodles were curled egg noodles made by Morizumi Making-Noodles Factory (森住製麺), and went well with the soup. The tender roasted pork fillet was also good. When I left the ramen restraunt, seats were half filled. I felt that the Harukichi was popular with a lot of family customers. Thanks for the tasty ramen!
