[Katsurasawa Onsen in Mikasa] Day Trip Bath Can Be Enjoyed at Yunomoto Onsen Ryokan
Katsurazawa Onsen is a hot spring place in Mikasa city located in northeastern direction of Sapporo city. Only Yunomoto Onsen Ryokan (湯の元温泉旅館) is built around a forest, and except it, Unfortunately, restraunts, cafes, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built. There are Familyland Mikasa Amusement Park (ファミリーランドみかさ遊園), Katsurawazawa Ski Resort (桂沢国設スキー場) and Lake Katsurazawa (桂沢湖). Katsurazawa Dam and Lake Katsurazawa
Lake Katsurazawa (桂沢湖) is a man-made lake in the eastern part of Mikasa city, and is near Yunomoto Onsen Ryokan (湯の元温泉旅館), Familyland Mikasa Amusement Park (ファミリーランドみかさ遊園) and Katsurawazawa Ski Resort (桂沢国設スキー場), and is well-known for ammonite fossil excavations. Katsurazawa Dam (桂沢ダム) was built in 1957, and the lake was born. The water surface is 4.99 km2. The height of the concrete gravity dam is about 63.6 m. New Katsurazawa Dam is builting now. A park is a little away from the dam, and smelt pond fishing is populr in a winter. Fall foliage is also beautiful. Mikasa Fall Foliage Festival (三笠紅葉祭り) is held only in a day, mid October. List of Day Trip Onsen
The visitors can take a day trip bath only at the Yunomoto Onsen Ryokan. Community Health Increase Center (地域増進健康センター) is closed down. In addition, Mikasa Onsen Kagetsuen (三笠温泉花月園) does not accept day trip bath at present near the Katsurawa Onsen.
Yunomoto Onsen Ryokan
Yunomoto Onsen Ryokan (湯の元温泉旅館) is a small-sized long-established onsen ryokan founded in 1957, and is near Lake Katsurazawa. An entrance fee to a bath facility is JPY 500. A staying is possible, too, and Duck Meat Hot pot (合鴨鍋) has a good reputation. Visitors for day trip bath can eat the Duck Meat Hot pot, too. An owner was changed in 2014.
There are 1 outdoor bath, 1 indoor bath and 1 sauna at a public bathhouse. The indoor bath is the size that about 6 people can take a bath. The outdoor bath and the indoor bath use heated simple sulfur cold spring.
The outdoor bath is the size that about 4 people can take a bath. Because the outdoor bath surrounded by walls has a roof, a sence of openness does not felt, but bathers can take a bath while looking at a forest. A bird feeder is built beside the outdoor bath, the bathers may come across wild birds.
The hot springs are simple sulfur cold spring, and are clear and colorless and have tasteless and no smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 0.374 g/kg. Unfortunately, the hot spring are not drinkable. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A restroom and free hair dryers are installed at a dressing room.
