Flower Fields
The Hokuseiyama Lavender Garden is the biggest elevation difference of the flower garden in the Nakafurano region. The difference of elevation from the foot of the mountain to an observation deck on the mountainside is around 100 m. Vivid color flowers are planted around the foot of the mountain, and the lavenders are planted around the mountainside. There are 2 ways to reach the mountainside, and one is a ski lift, and the other is on foot. It is a rare tourist attraction to look over the flowers at distance of 333 m in total length from the foot of the mountain to the mountainside. Visitors can savor the bird's-eye lavender. It takes about 7 minutes. A ski lift ticket is JPY 300. As for the hiking, it takes about 20 minutes on the foot. I hiked the mountain, and got tired.

The observation deck is built on the mountainside, so the lavenders, Tokachidake Mountain Range (十勝岳連峰) and a pastoral scenery can be seen. Here is not more crowded with tourists than the Farm Tomita, and the views can be enjoyed on a high place. In addition, On last saturday in July, Lavender Festival and Fireworks Display (なかふらのラベンダーまつり&花火大会) are held before the lavenders are cut down. Only Hokuseiyama Lavender Garden has a good event that both fireworks and lavenders can be enjoyed in the summer night sky.

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
