Lined Gingko Trees with Fall Foliage in Hokkaido University (北海道大学イチョウ並木) is a beauty spot for fall foliage near Sapporo Station. It takes about 1 minute from Sapporo Subway Namboku Line Kita-12Jo Station (地下鉄南北線「北12条駅」) to here. The Hokkaido University is commonly called Hokudai (北大), and becomes popular nationwide. The Hokkaido University is a national university in Kita ward, Sapporo city, and is close to the Sapporo Station. Its common name is Hokudai (ほくだい). As for a climate, it is hot that temperature rises to nearly 25 degrees in a summer, but it is easy to live without moisture. I always feel a little cool. Fall Foliage of Hokkaido
It is said that the Fall Foliage of the Hokkaido turns red at the earliest in Japan. The best time to see the fall foliage comes in Daisetsu-zan at high altitude, and it comes gradually in low areas. It comes in Mt. Asahidake (旭岳) and in Mt. Kurodake (黒岳) in mid September, and autumn leaves fall in early November. Lined Gingko Trees with Fall Foliage
About 70 gingko trees are planted along a road with about 350 m in length from Kita 13jo Gate (北13条門) to a road running north-south. The gingko trees has planted since 1939, and Prior to that point, cherry trees and maple trees were planted. The best time to see the Lined Gingko Trees with Fall Foliage is from late October to early November. Hokkaido University Konyo Festival (北大金葉祭) is held on the weekend in the best time to see the fall foliage, and it is lit up from 18:00 to 21:00. Watch out for cars because the road lined with the gingko trees is not closed to traffic.
