Cape Hinode (日の出岬) is a cape in Oumu town located in the northeastern direction of Asahikawa city, and has Hinode-misaki Observation Deck La Luna (日の出岬展望台ラ・ルーナ), Hinode-misaki Campsite (日の出岬キャンプ場) and Hotel Hinode-misaki (ホテル日の出岬). As its name suggests, the cape is well-known as a good place to see the beautiful morning sun, and the beautiful sunset also has a good reputation. Admission free. A parking lot is free of charge.

Hinode-misaki Observation Deck La Luna
The Hinode-misaki Observation Deck La Luna of 9 m height is built at about 10 m elevation, and is fitted with glass. The stylish appearance is outstanding. It was built for visitors to enjoy the drift ice without shivering with cold in a winter in 1992. La Luna means "The moon" in Italian, and as the name suggests, the moon seems to be enjoyed in the evening. The building has the 1st floor and the 2nd floor, and a binocular telescope is set on the 2nd floor. A restroom is provided, too.
