Hinata Onsen (日向温泉) is a hot spring place in Shibetsu city located in the northern direction of Asahikawa city. Hinata Recreation center (士別市日向保養センター) is built at around 180 m above sea level on the hillside of Hinata Ski Resort (日向スキー場), and Hinata Forest Park (日向森林公園) is in front of the Hinata Recreation Center, and tourists can stay at bungalows and tents in a summer. The distance is around 12 km far away from the center of the Shibetsu, and restraunts, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built. Lake Shumarinai (朱鞠内湖), the largest man-made lake in Japan, is relatively near here. World Sheep Museum (世界のめん羊館) and Tsukumo Water Park (つくも水郷公園) are relatively famous tourist attractions in the Shibetsu.
Lake Shumarinai (朱鞠内湖) in the northern Hokkaido is the largest man-made lake that 13 big and small islands float on the surface of the lake in Japan. The perimeter of the lake is about 40 km, and complicated topography like a fjord is characteristic. Uryu Dam was built in 1940 and the Lake Shumarinai was born. Water sports are prosperous, and many people come to get on kayaks and canoes. There are a camping ground, a pier of the pleasure boat and Fishermen’s Association Management Ridge around the lake, and there is a restroom at the Fishermen’s Association Management Ridge (漁業組合管理棟). Hinata Recreation Center
Hinata Recreation Center is a hot spring facility for day trip onsen founded in 1978. A building was renewed in 2013. An entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 450. A restraunt is at the building, too, and visitors for day trip bath can use the restraunt. A meal set with taking a bath is served for JPY 1000.
They have 2 types of public bathhouses, Japanese-style Bathhouse and Western-style Bathhouse, and the bathhouses for men or women are replaced every day. There are 2 indoor baths, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at the bathhouse. I took a bath at the Japanese-style Bathhouse. 10 local people took a bath, and it was popular with them. The bathhouse with white walls and tiled stones is not so large.
The large indoor bath is the size that about 10 people can take a bath, and the small indoor bath is the size that about 6 people can take a bath, and both baths use heated cold springs.
The hot springs are cold spring, and are clear and colorless and have tasteless and no smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 0.284 g/kg. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. In addition, a restroom and free hair dryers are installed at a dressing room.

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
