100,000 Colorful Flowers Are in Full Bloom in Big City -Hakko Gakuen Japanese Iris Garden in Sapporo-
July 14th, 2014
Hakko Gakuen Japanese Iris Garden (八紘学園花菖蒲園) is located in Tsukisamu, Toyohira ward, Sapporo city and is adjacent to Tsukisappu Green Dome (月寒グリーンドーム). Hakko Gakuen is an agriculture technical school, and flowers that students cherish are opened to the public only during about 2 weeks in July every year. The area of the Japanese Iris Garden is 2 ha, and 450 kinds of 100,000 Japanese Iris are planted. Colorful flowers bloom there.
There are small lavender fields and day-lily fields that 140 kinds of flowers are planted at the same site. I was surprised at such a place in Sapporo city. The flower seedlings are sold, too. Admission is charged. A parking lot is free of charge.
