Gamushi Onsen Ryokan

Gamushi Onsen Ryokan (俄虫温泉旅館) is a long-established ryokan in Assabu town located in the northwest part of Hakodate city, and was founded in 1976. There is a restraunt at a building, too. Gamushi (ガムシ) is a place name, and means "Place that a lot of bears live" in Ainu language. In that kind of meaning, this place was indeed terrible. By the way, Kamisato Onsen (上里温泉) renewed in 2017 is next to the Gamushi Onsen Ryokan.

There are 1 outdoor bath, 1 indoor bath, 1 whirlpool bath, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at a bathhouse. The sunny bathhouse is feeling good, and its atmosphere goes well with white tiles and has a feeling of cleanliness. The indoor bath is the size that about 15 people can take a bath, and hot springs overflow from the bath. Yield of hot springs are small, so those are not fresh free flowing hot springs unfortunately. The whirlpool bath is the size that about 3 people can take a bath. The hot springs are more cold than the hot springs of the indoor bath.
