Popular Conveyor Belt Sushi in Hokkaido -Toriton Miwa Branch in Kitami-
August 18th, 2014
Triton (トリトン) is a very popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido. Kitaichishokuhin Corporation (北一食品株式会社) started the conveyor belt sushi (回転寿司) as a new business in 1989. There are many branches in Sapporo district, Kitami district, Asahikawa district and Tokyo District now. Generally it is a feature that visitors line up at all restraunts at lunchtime. Though sushi items are fresh, a price is reasonable, so it will be popular. There are varied customers such as families, couples, singles and friends. There are crowded even on weekdays.
A birthplace of the triton is Kitami. The very first store is Miwa branch (三輪店). There are restraunts in Sapporo, but I visited the birth place. I ordered a bowl of miso soup with sweet shrimp, a plate of scallop, a plate of squid, a plate of whelk, a plate of saury, a plate of salmon and etc. The sushi ingredients were fresh and were tasty. In addition, the soup broth of the sweet shrimp was very tasty and had Umami.
