We Can Eat Seafood Caught in Wakkanai's Sea at Northernmost Conveyor Belt Sushi in Japan -Hanaichimonme Head Office in Wakkanai-
July 19th, 2015
Hanaichimonme Head Office (花いちもんめ) is a popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant (回転寿司店) in Shiomi, Wakkanai city and is known as the northernmost conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Japan. I visited here with my friend, visiting Hokkaido for the first time, around 17:00. There were already several groups of visitors at the restaurant. We sat at counter seats at once. The sushi is gotten on a conveyor belt, but we can order it ordinary. I ordered restaurant's recommendations and seafood caught in Wakkanai's sea.
At first a plate of restaurant's recommended black rockfish (ソイ * JPY 360) was served. The black rockfish is famous in Hokkaido, but it is too unfamiliar fish any place other than Hokkaido. It is a taste such as a sea bream. My friend was surprised at the taste, too. In addition, these are seafood caught in the sea of Wakkanai. A plate of scallop (JPY 240), a plate of raw sea urchin (JPY 560), a plate of boiled octopus (JPY 150). Those were tasty, too. The octopus in particular is a special product of Wakkanai.
Furthermore, I ate a plate of whelk (JPY 180), a plate of roasting fish porch (JPY 240), a plate of ark shell (JPY 260). It is tasty even if I eat a roasting fish porch at every sushi restraunt. Just as I thought, my friend highly recommended the black rockfish. While we ate, visitors were almost full at the restaurant around 18:00.
