[Chihasegawa Onsen in Shimamaki] Day Trip Bath and Small Pamukkale Can Be Enjoyed at Chihasegawa Onsen Ryokan
Chihasegawa Onsen
Chihasegawa Onsen (千走川温泉) is a hot spring place in Shimamaki village facing the Sea of Japan located in the northern direction of Hakodate city, and is about 6 km away from the center of the Shimamaki. Only Chihasegawa Onsen Ryokan (ちはせ川温泉旅館) is built at about 80 m above sea level in a mountain. Hot springs were discovered in 1871. There are Garo Falls (賀老の滝) and Dragon Water (ドラゴンウォーター) near here. By the way, the Dragon Water is natural carbonated spring that is gushing out from cracks of rocks. A taste is just like Perrier. It seems to be effective for Chronic digestive diseases, Constipation and Anemia. The Dragon Water is connected with the Dragon King Legend of the Garo Falls, so is named after it.

Shimamaki has rich nature. A lot of anglers come to fish, so Salvelinus Leucomaenis Leucomaenis Derby (あめますダービー) is held, too. Unfortunately, restraunts, cafes, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built around here.

List of Day Trip Onsen
Visitors can take a day trip bath at the Chihasegawa Onsen Ryokan.

Chihasegawa Onsen Ryokan
Chihasegawa Onsen Ryokan is a small-sized long-established onsen ryokan with 6 guest rooms, and has opened a business since 1885. The appearance and interior decoration have an atmosphere such as Showa period. An entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 500. A staying is possible, too. In addition, Shimamaki is famous for fishing, and a lot of anglers stay.

There are 1 open-air bath and 1 indoor bath at a public bathroom. The wooden bathroom with a hig ceiling is small but cozy. The indoor bath is the size that about 4 people can take a bath, and uses heated natural free flowing hot springs, and those overflow from the bath in succession. Hot spring ingredients have precipitated on the surface of the bath floor and the bath, and those looks like small Pamukkale. I could not help oohing and aahing when I saw the beautiful design by nature. A lot of tourists come to see the situation.

The open-air bath is the size that about 1 person can take a bath, and uses 100% natural free flowing hot springs. When I visited here, it was not used unfortunately. A sense of openness can be felt without a roof. But the bathers are sometimes annoyed with a horsefly or a shield bug in a summer. By the way, the open-air bath is closed in a winter.

The hot springs are sodium chloride carbonated spring, and are opaque and dark reddish-brown and have metallic taste and a little metallic taste smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 5.416 g/kg. The hot springs seem to be drinkable, too, but I could not find a drinking hot spring facility. Perhaps those are undrinkable. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathroom. But a shower does not run well. Because there is not a restroom at a dressing room, You should get a wash beforehand at the restroom at a corridor.

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
