[Marumi Shokudo in Yakumo] Buckwheat Noodles with Variety of Ingredients Such as Scallop and Prawn

Marumi Shokudo (まるみ食堂) is a long-established restaurant founded in 1958 in Yakumo town located in the northwestern part of Hakodate city, and is next to Yakumo Station. Marumi Shoji Ltd. runs it, and also run an accommodation at the same building. Mr. Naoki Shinohara (篠原 直樹) is a company president. The restraunt has an atomosphere such as a typical local restraunt with the warmth of woods. Counter seats, table seats and small separate Japanese style rooms are provided, so I guess that even family customers and a large number of customers enjoy meals.
Buckwheat Noodles of Hokkaido
Hokkaido occupies about 40% of buckwheat production of Japan, and is the largest buckwheat production in the Japan, and Nagano prefecture, Ibaraki prefecture, Fukushima prefecture and so on follow the Hokkaido. The climate is cool in a summer, and a large temperature gap is great for good buckwheat, and the buckwheat production of the Hokkaido is increasing. Horokanai (幌加内), Fukagawa (深川) and Otoineppu (音威子府) are the 3 largest production places. Especially, the Horokanai is the best buckwheat production and the largest planted area in the Japan, and is well-known as a buckwheat town, and uses buckwheat fields as tourist attractions well. In Fukushima town, Sengen Soba Buckwheat Flowers Viewing Party (千軒そばの花鑑賞会) is held in buckwheat fields, and a fantastic conbination of the buckwheat fields and Matsumae Kagura (松前神楽) can be enjoyed. Since I came to the Yakumo, I planned to eat Yakumo Buckwheat Noodles, so I visited here. But I got the Yakumo Buckwheat Noodles wrong in the first place. I thought that it was a kind of buckwheat noodles. The Marumi Shokudo uses buckwheat flour produced in Horokanai. The Yakumo Buckwheat Noodles is the name of the restaurant. Anyway, I sat at a table seat, and asked a waitress about their recommendations, so she replied "The restaurant's recommendation is Tempura Buckwheat Noodles (天ぷらそば), but my recommendations are Buckwheat Noodles with Variety of Ingredients (五目そば), Curry Buckwheat Noodles (カレーそば), Curry and Rice. I love those". Famous Yakumo Beef (八雲牛) seems to be used in the curry sauce. Everything looked so tasty! But I finally ordered the Buckwheat Noodles with Variety of Ingredients. The price was JPY 800.
About 10 minutes later, the Buckwheat Noodles with Variety of Ingredients was served. As might be expected of various ingredients, I thought that the buckwheat noodles topped with a lot of the ingredients, and I never thought a scallop and a prawn were contained in the ingredients. I had a sip of soup immediately, it was just right seasoning for me, and soup stock was also tasty. In addition, the hand-made buckwheat noodles were chewy, and were good texture. The seafood was tasty, too. I feel a good order. Thanks for the tasty meal!
