Curried Buckwheat Noodle Soup with Curry Soup Filled to Brim -Yoshinoya in Yubari (Not Beef Rice Bowl)-
May 8th, 2015
Yoshinoya (吉野家) is a long-established buckwheat noodles restraunt in Yubari city located in the eastern part of Sapporo city and was founded in 1928. Speaking of Yoshinoya, Yoshinoya is famous for a beef rice bowl (牛丼), too, but Yoshinoya in Yubari was founded before than Gyudon Yoshinoya. My friend recommended me to eat curried buckwheat noodles soup, I visited here just after opening of the buckwheat noodles restraunt. The restraunt had an atomosphere such as a typical good old buckwheat noodles restraunt. There were some tables and family customers seem to enjoy.
I sat a counter seat and ordered the famous curried buckwheat noodles soup (カレーそば). The price is JPY 700. Because there were 6 groups of customers, and all the members ordered the curried buckwheat noodle soup, it was considerably popular. By the way, originally, the curried buckwheat noodles soup seemed to be a dish that the buckwheat noodle restraunt called Fujinoya (藤の家) served. Fujinoya would close and 8 restraunts served the popular menu for local development movement. Yoshinoya is one of those restraunts.
I saw their cooking from the counter seat, mayonnaise was often used. The curry and the mayonnaise were unexpected combinations. Approximately 20 minutes later, the curried buckwheat noodles soup was served. The buckwheat noodles bowl of curry soup filled to a brim was very impressive. The soup which had ingredients used with curry and rice including pork and onions was nearly curry sauce rather than the buckwheat noodles soup. But it went well with the buckwheat noodles, it was tasty!
