[Teppei in Tomakomai] Tender Breaded Pork Cutlet and Tasty Rice
Ajidokoro Teppei (味処てっ平) is a famous breaded pork cutlet restaurant founded in 1974 in Otowa-cho, Tomakomai city. I heard that Tomakomai people have been loving the long-established breaded pork cutlet restaurant. The Teppei is particular about various things. Because they place a high priority on "The taste should be good for the health", they are particular about safe ingredients and hand-made foods, and choose pork, cooking oil, bread crumb, rice, soup broth and other ingredients carefully. They are particular about hot and fresh, too.
I visited here around 17:00 on a weekday. 2 groups of visitors enjoyed their meals. The restraunt with an atomosphere such as a typical local Japanese restraunt is somewhat large. Counter seats, table seats and small separate Japanese style rooms are provided, so I guess that even family customers and a large number of customers enjoy meals.
By the way, Express Tomakomai-go (高速とまこまい号) or Hascup-go (ハスカップ号), express buses, run between Sapporo and the Tomakomai. Besides, Rent-a-car can be rented around Tomakomai Station.
Tomakomai (苫小牧) that 170,000 people live along Pacific Ocean is the fourth largest industrial city in Hokkaido, and is located in the central part of the Hokkaido. There are Oji Paper factory (王子製紙), petrochemical complexes and Tomato-Atsuma Thermal Power Plant, the largest thermal power plant in the Hokkaido. As for a climate, it is warmer than other places in Hokkaido in a summer or in a winter, and it features that the Tomakomai has less snow than other placess in the Hokkaido. Therefore skating as one of famous winter sports is prosperous, so ASIA LEAGUE ICE HOCKEY Team "Oji Eagles" is based in the Tomakomai. Because the Tomakomai is close to New Chitose Airport, and Tomakomai Ferry terminal is built, so the Tomakomai has traffic convenience. Read More
Breaded Pork Cutlet
I sat at a table seat, and read a menu. Unfortunately, pettitoes was out of stock on that day, so I ordered 110 g of breaded pork cutlet (とんかつ110g * JPY 1,160), a bowl of rice and a bowl of miso soup (JPY 340). The total sum was JPY 1,500.
About 15 minutes later, the breaded pork cutlet meal set was served. I pounded sesame in a mortar, and the brown sauce with grated sesame seeds for breaded pork cutlets was poured into the breaded pork cutlet. When I ate a slice of breaded pork cutlet immediately, the pork was tender! The rice was tasty, too, and the good taste were double when I ate the rice with the sauced breaded pork cutlet together. I was able to feel their peculiar things. I finished eating quickly. Thanks for the tasty meal!
