[Kyowa Onsen in Aibetsu] Day Trip Bath and Carbonated Spring like Perrier Can Be Enjoyed
Aibetsu Kyowa Onsen
Aibetsu Kyowa Onsen (あいべつ協和温泉) is a hot spring place in Aibetsu town located in the eastern direction of Asahikawa city. Only Kyowa Onsen (協和温泉) is built around a field and a forest. Aibetsu Kyowa Onsen is well-known for carbon dioxide cold spring that gushes out at only 2 hot spring places with together Gomi Onsen (五味温泉) in Hokkaido, and is 2 km distant from a hot spring source, and there is not much yeild of the hot springs. Unfortunately, restraunts, cafes, souvenir shops and convenience stores are not built. But Aifukufuku (愛ふくふく), a rice cake store, is near the Aibetsu Kyowa Onsen. Nonstop buses do not run from the Aibetsu Kyowa Onsen to Sapporo or Asahikawa.
List of Day Trip Onsen
The visitors can take a day trip bath only at the Kyowa Onsen.
Kyowa Onsen is a small-sized long-established onsen ryokan founded in 1969, and a building like a mountain hut is surrounded by a forest. This building was renewed in 1988. A restraunt is at the building, too, and visitors for day trip bath can use the restraunt. Meals with mushroom produced in Aibetsu is popular in particular. An entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 500. A staying is possible, too, and the Kyowa Onsen is a base for trecking Mt. Teshiodake (天塩岳). A chartered bus is provided for JPY 3240, too. An extra cost is JPY 800 in a winter.
There are 1 indoor bath with whirlpool, 1 sleeping bath, 2 indoor baths, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at a public bathhouse on the 1st floor. The bathhouse is not so large, and strange octagonal shaped wash place catches people's eyes. The baths are placed along the walls, and the indoor bath with whirlpool is the size that about 4 people can take a bath, and uses heated water. The sleeping bath seats 2 people, and the indoor bath is the size that 1 person take a bath, and uses heated water.
The indoor bath is the size that 1 person take a bath. Because there is not much yeild of the hot springs, the bath is small. Free flowing hot springs are mixed the hot springs of 13 C with hot water of 80 C. If the hot springs are heated, the hot springs is flat, so they adapt the method. Nature is taken into consideration, and they make the best of the hot springs. The hot spring ingredients have been deposited around the bath, and it turns into dark-brown color.
This is the rare carbon dioxide cold spring in Hokkaido, but I did not see any difference when I took a bath. But, I saw carbonated spring like Perrier when I drank it, so I drank too much. It was better than I expected. It is effective for Chronic digestive diseases and Chronic constipation.
The hot spring are simple carbon dioxide cold spring, and are clear and colorless and have carbonated taste and no smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 2.634 g/kg. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A free hair dryer and a restroom are installed at a dressing room.
