360 Degree Views Refresh Yourself After Going Up Trail -Tomayama Observatory in Toma-
June 6th, 2017
Tomayama Observatory (当麻山展望台) is in Toma town next to Asahikawa city. A double-decker observatory deck is built on the top of Mt. Toma at 292 m above sea level, and visitors can enjoy 360 degree views. Except the Tomayama Observatory, there are Toma Sport Lnad Field Athletics Course (とうまスポーツランド フィールドアスレチックコース), a campsite, Toma Ski Resort and Tomayama Hitome Senbon Zakura on the Mt. Toma. As for the Tomayama Observatory, admission free. A parking lot is free of charge, too.
The visitors can not go up by their cars. So the visitors must go up on foot. Walks with 544 m in total length is built, and it is not difficult to walk. But there are many hard stairways, and the visitors will get tired very much. It took about 30 minutes for me to go up from a trailhead to the obsevatory deck. I got tired. But the views were worth seeing. It was very comfortable.
The 360 degree views can be enjoyed on the top of the double-decker observatory deck. * Trees disturb the views, so aroud 330 may be right. Toma is known as a rice-producing region in Hokkaido, and I was surprised at many rice fields. A combination of the rice fields and gravestones was good, too. Mt. Daisetsuzan can be seen, if it is fine weather.
