[Shibetu Onsen] Day Trip Onsen Can Be Enjoyed at Shibetugawa Onsen and Okhotsk Onsen

Shibetsu Onsen

Shibetsu Onsen (標津温泉) is a hot-spring place in Shibetsu town in the root of Shiretoko peninsula. 2 onsen ryokan, Hotel Kusunoki (ホテル楠) and Hotel Kawabata (ホテル川畑), are built along Notsuke National Route (National Route 244), and the Hotel Kusunoki is a little away from the center of the Shinbetsu, and the Hotel Kawahata is around the center of the Shibetsu. They are named Shibetsugawa Onsen (標津川温泉) and Okhotsk Onsen (オホーツク温泉), but those roughly called Shibetsu Onsen. There are restaurants, cafes, Izakaya, bars with a surcharge, souvenir shops, convenience stores at the center of the Shibetsu. Speaking of the Shibetsu, there is the head office of Fukuzumi (福住), a famous buckwheat noodles restraunt chain. In addition, famous tourist attractions in the Shibetsu are Shibetsu Salmon Museum (標津サーモン科学館) and Po River Nature Park (ポー川史跡自然公園).

Visitors can take a day trip bath at the Hotel Kusunoki and the Hotel Kawabata.

Shibetsugawa Onsen Puruke-no-Yado Hotel Kawabata

Hotel Kawabata is a small-sized long-established onsen ryokan in the city area and, has around 100 years old. An entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 500. A staying is possible, too, and dishes using local seafood have a good reputation. A coin-operated laundry for hotel guests is provided, too.

There are 1 outdoor bath and 1 indoor bath at a public bathroom. The sunny tiled bathroom is small but cozy. The tiled indoor bath is the size that about 6 people can take a bath, and outdoor bath surrounded by rocks is the size that about 4 people can take a bath, and both baths use 100% natural free flowing hot springs. The outdoor bath with a roof is surronded by walls, so a sense of openness can not be felt.

The hot springs are sodium chloride spring, and are clear and colorless and have a little salty taste and no smell, and have smooth and slippery touch. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 3.227 g/kg. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathroom.

Okhotsk Onsen Hotel Kusunoki

Okhotsk Onsen Hotel Kusunoki is a small-sized onsen ryokan founded in 1980, and is a little far away from the city area. There is a public bath "Kusunoki" for day trip onsen that is popular with local people, too. An entrance is different from an accommodation. An entrance fee to a bath facility is JPY 440. A staying is possible, too, and dishes using local seafood have a good reputation. A coin-operated laundry for hotel guests is provided, too. But a clothes dryer is not provided.

There are 1 indoor bath, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at a public bathhouse. The sunny tiled bathhouse with a lot of windows is feeling good. The oval indoor bath is set in the center of the bathhouse, and it is the size that about 15 people can take a bath, and uses 100% natural free flowing hot springs. Those always overflow from the bath, and pretty hot springs make the bathers get up. The hot springs are used as hot water of showers and faucets at wash places.
