Open-air Bath with Sence of Openness Is Good -Rishirifuji Onsen-

September 26th, 2015

Rishirifuji Onsen (利尻富士温泉) is a hot spring facility in Rishiri Island (利尻島) and was founded in 1996. There is a building between Oshidomari Port (鴛泊港) and Kanrosen Spring Water (甘露泉水). Rishirifuji town runs this facility, and there is a pool facility at the building, too. 60,000 a year visitors seem to visit these facilities. There are camping grounds near the building, this facility provided a launderette.

There are 1 open-air bath, 1 indoor bath, 1 whirlpool bath, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at a bathhouse. The open-air bath is the size that about 15 people take a bath. It has a sence of openness because it does not have a roof. Bathers might take a bath while looking at Mt. Rishirifuji if it is fine. The indoor bath is the size that about 20 people take a bath. It is comfortable for large space.

Hot springs are sodium chloride carbonated spring, and are clear and colorless and have neither taste nor smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 2.050 g. Unfortunately, the hot springs are not drinkable. The hot springs of the indoor bath were light yellow, but the hot springs of the open-air bath were clear and colorless. When the hot springs are oxidized, its color may turn light yellow. I do not know details. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A restroom and hair dryers are installed at a dressing room. A free cold water dispenser provides at a resting place.
