[Kita-no-Kanaria Park in Rebun Island] Kita-no-Kanaria Park Is One of Most Viewing Spots that Rishiri Island Looks Beautiful
Kita-no-Kanaria Park (北のカナリアパーク) is a tourist attraction in the southern part of Rebun Island (礼文島), and is nearly the southernmost tip of the island. It has opened a business since 2013, and about 40,000 tourists come. Misaki Branch School of Reitan Elementary School (麗端小学校岬分校) used as a shooting place is open to the public in commemoration of Japanese movie "A Chorus of Angels (北のカナリア達)" that Ms. Sayuri Yoshinaga (吉永小百合), a famous actress, played a roll. A view of Rishiri Island from here is very beautiful, so I suppose that here was used as the shooting place for the movie. Admission free. A parking lot is free of charge. The park close a business from November to April.
There are some means of transportation for the island tourism, for example, a sightseeing bus and a fixed-route bus managed by the Soya bus (宗谷バス), a sightseeing taxi, a rental car, a rental motor scooter and a rental bicycle. I went around the Rebun Island by the rental motor scooter, and it was very comfortable. The Rebun has a lot of slopes, so I think that the bicycle is tough. By the way, if tourists raise their hand in the case of fixed-route bus happening to pass, they can get on the bus without a bus stop, and can get off the bus without a bus stop.

Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park (利尻礼文サロベツ国立公園) located in the northern Hokkaido between Rishiri Island, Rebun Island, Toyotomi Town and Horonobe Town is the northernmost national park in Japan, and has been designated as the national park since 1974. Because the Northern Hokkaido has few famous tourist attracsions, the national park is one of the most famous nature tourist attracsions. The Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park is divided into 4 areas, Rishiri Area (利尻), Rebun Area (礼文), Coastal Sand-dune Area (海浜砂丘) and Sarobetsu Area (サロベツ), and the Rishiri Area (利尻), the Rebun Area (礼文) and the Sarobetsu Area have a lot of highlights. Look of Kita-no-Kanaria Park
The school building, playground equipments, a parking lot, a rest station and a restroom are built at the site. If the weather is fine, Mt. Rishirifuji from the schoolyard is superb, and a combination of it and green grass is also good. Tourists can enter the elementary school for free, and contents of the movie are displayed at the elementary school. But, Please note that visitors are not alloed to take pictures. By the way, there is a good view place that a lot of people know little near the elementary school, and a view of the Rishiri Island from there is very beautiful, too. At the rest station, the visitors can take a rest, buy a souvenir, and savor coffee using natural water "Rishiria (リシリア)" of the Mt. Rishirifuji.

By the way, Club Tourism (クラブツーリズム), a Japanese tour travel agency, provides various types of tours such as day trip tours or ordinary tours. In the case of bus tours, tourists do not drive their cars themselves, so they can savor alcohol. Choosen tourist attractions are national parks such as Rishiri and Rebun, Shiretoko, and popular tourist places such as Furano and Biei, and some activities such as hiking and fruit picking are also enjoyed depending on seasons. If you are interested in tour trips, you should visit the club tourism's website for details.
