List of Day Trip Onsen
Visitors can take a day trip bath at the Niseko Kogane Onsen.
Niseko Kogane Onsen
The Niseko Kogane Onsen is a hot spring facility for day trip bath. A building is surrounded by fields, and Mr. Hayashi (林) and his wife, around 80 years old, run it. Originally, they used to be a farmer, and hot springs gushed out when they dug agricultural well water, so they built the hot spring facility at their site. It is surprising that all facilities about the hot springs are handmade.

The Niseko Kogane Onsen is known for a semi-mixed bathing open-air bath and 100% natural fresh free flowing hot spring. A lot of onsen enthusiasts come to savor those. By the way, business season is from May to Octorber, and they close a business in a winter. In addition, a buckwheat noodles restaurant is built on the site, too, and his handmade Juwari Soba (十割そば) limited to 20 meals is popular, too. An entrance fee to the bath facility is JPY 500. A set of the buckwheat noodles and bathing is provided for JPY 1100, too.

There are 1 indoor bath, 1 semi-mixed bathing open-air bath, 1 small open-air sleeping bath and 2 open-air pot baths at a public bathhouse. The indoor bath at the small bathhouse is the size that about 4 poeple can take a bath. The indoor bath has the hottest spring in all the baths. The sunny bathhouse is feeling good. The handmade bathhouse remainds me of a building of the television drama "From the north country (北の国から)", and a typical old atmosphere of Hokkaido can be felt.

I felt as if the open-air baths were placed on the Japanese garden, and a sense of openness can be felt very much, too. Parasols are built, too, so visitors can forget daily life. U-shaped semi-mixed bathing open-air bath surrounded by rocks is the size that about 5 people can take a bath at men side. A rocky wall sparetes the bathhouse for men from the bathhouse for women without completing, so family customers seem to enjoy themselves if there are a few pople. Because the oxidized hot springs turn into yellow ocher color, each bathers hard to see each bodies, and I guess that the owner consider the mixed bathing. If it is fine weather, a view from the open-air baths is amazing! Mt. Yotei (羊蹄山) can be seen. In addition, in the evening, if the bathers push a button "Switch for Seeing Stars (星を見る時スイッチ)" to dim the lighting, a starlit sky can be enjoyed.

A small open-air sleeping bath and 2 open-air pot baths seat one, and whenever the bathers take a bath, they may feel comfortable for overflowing hot springs. By the way, fresh hot springs gush out without oxidizing, and its color is clear and colorless. In addition, natural air bubbles rose from the bottom! This is very interesting. Water temperature is warm, so it is suitable for taking a long bath, and the bathers can savor spending an elegant and blissful time while looking at the Mt. Yotei without thinking of anything.

The hot springs are sodium chloride bicarbonate sulfate spring, and are opaque and yellow ocher and have metallic taste and metallic taste smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredient are 3.389 g/kg. The hot springs are used for a shower or a water service at the bathhouse, too. Because the hot springs seemed to be drinkable, I drank it out of my hands from a faucet. It had a metallic taste, and carbonic acid was not felt. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A free hair dryer is installed at a dressing room. There is not a restroom, so you should get a wash beforehand at the restroom of outside. By the way, the visitors can not stay at this facility because there is not accommodation.
