Onsen Has More than 100 Years of History -Nigorikawa Onsen in Mori-

December 16th, 2014

Nigorigawa Onsen

Nigorigawa Onsen (濁川温泉) is a hot-spring town in Mori town located the northern part of Hakodate city and has been used as hot springs for cure since a long time, and a statue of Yakushi Nyorai (薬師如来像) dedicated in 1798 exists now. Hot spring power is strong, Nigorigawa Onsen has a rare geothermal power generation in Hokkaido and it is used for cultivation of crops. Steam come up in many places. In addition, its feature is that types of the hot springs are different by hot-spring facilities. Visitors can take a day trip bath at Shineikan (新栄館), Goshiki-no-Yu (五色の湯), Caldera Onsen Fureai-no-Sato (カルデラ温泉ふれあいの里), Onsen Ryokan Chuoso (温泉旅館中央荘), MotoYu Shinsenkan Nigorigawa Onsen Nikori-no-Yu (元湯新泉館濁川温泉にこりの湯), Onsen Ryokan Tenyu (温泉旅館天湯) and Mikanseni Onsen Ryokan (美完成温泉旅館).

Shineikan

Shineikan is far from a main road through the town a little and was founded in 1900. A building that passed for nearly 100 years is quite shibui. This bathhouse seemed to be used for 100 years, too, and hot spring ingredients have precipitated on bathtubs and a floor of bathhouse, and these became mineralized. Fresh hot springs flow freely, and the floor changes a river. This is great! In Japan, it will be a few onsen that there is the natural world at the bathhouse.

When I read Tweets, Shineikan seems to be popular.

There are 3 indoor baths at the bathhouse, and water temperatures are different each. The hottest spring of 3 hot springs was considerable hot, and I was not able to take a bath. Therefore I regulated temperature with water from a hose. Because there are not modern bathing facilities, bathers may feel inconvenience, but this onsen is full of freshness and surprising. By the way, this is the bathhouse for men, and the bathhouse for women is different. But women also seem to take a bath at this bathhouse, because the bathhouse for women is not the splendid bathhouse. It is possible to take a mixed bathing, too.

The hot springs are sodium chloride carbonated spring, and are a little opaque and light green and have a little salty taste and a little oil smell. A shower is not installed at the bathhouse, and shampoos and soaps are not provided at the bathhouse, too. Because there was not a restroom at a dressing room, you should get a wash beforehand at the restroom along a corridor. In addition, a staying is possible, too, and it seems to stay a new building.
